The coin droppers at the "smoky" bar have all been replaced.
The 5 $1 AA at the bar are gone. The 3 $1 PE at the smoky bar
are gone. The 5 25c AA at the bar are gone.

Will try again to post this message. Half the messages I post to the

When we visited Ameristar KC a couple days ago we were disappointed
(once again) to learn they have now downgraded all their Pick-Em
machines. This was the last of the full pay VP at Ameristar. They
now hold the unique position of being the only casino in the Kansas
City market (including Topeka) that have zero full pay VP.

All Pick-Em now pay (for 5 coins) 10,000 for royal flush and 20
three-of-a-kind. According to Winpoker this puts the payback at
97.1%, down almost 3%. To add insult to injury for dollar players,
the straight flush now pays $1200 thus earning a W-2 for those rare
occasions when this hand shows up.

It is getting harder and harder to find reasons to visit this casino.

Your post got through fine... I'm curious about something though,
either I really haven't looked too good at Harrah's KC but what is Full
Pay there? I've got better JOB paytables at Cherokee Casino in
Catossa, OK at the $1 level (8/6), of course no Pick-um.

There are 2 25 cent 9/6 5 plays along the wall next back where the
Buffet is located.

They are on the ends with 3 Spin Poker machines in the middle.

I answered this post a couple days ago but, once again, my message
didn't get through.

Yes, Harrah's has full pay machines, you can check out the full
inventory on VPFree's database but, for example, they have 9/6 JoB in
.25, .50, 1.00, 2.00, and 5.00 with some of the $5 machines progressive.

BTW I got my first royal in Harrah's on Saturday playing $1 JoB. I
have played there since they opened the doors around 10 years ago (but
only VP for the past 6 years or so). Lucky Lucy has hit her fair
share of royals there and I have hit my fair share at other casinos
but this one broke a very long dry spell at Harrah's.

Don't know why we haven't found these before but will definitely look
for them next trip. Are they 9/6 JOB or some other game?

We were there today to collect on coupons and eat free food. Had
another look at the Pick'Em machines and they are worse than first
reported. The straight has also been downgraded to 50 for 5 coins
making them a dismal 95.4% payback! I will get the database changed
sometime soon.

Sorry Rick, they are the Multi Game Machines that you see all over
in that area.

I agree, the VP in KC is getting worst every month.

Good Job on the Royal!

This casino is in a constant state of change (upheaval). We were
there yesterday (Monday) and the place was a wreck. Slot machines
being ripped out and replaced, roped off areas, general chaos. But of
most interest, all the VP machines are now missing from the High Limit
area -- nothing but slot machines left. I asked about the machines
and a boothling told me the $5 progressives will show up in the VP
area upstairs after the first of the year, the rest are gone. Said
something about not being able to get them repaired. Here's betting
the progressives are downgraded when they next make their appearance.
If they jam any more machines in the VP area there won't be room to
turn around.

Also gone (to be relocated?) were the progressive Pick A Pair
(Pick'Em) that sometimes had over $50K on the clock.

Rick

A folow-on to the below message. The $5 machines are back and in the
Video Polker area upstairs as promised by the boothling. Sure enough
all have been downgraded to short pay. We were there this afternoon
and, of course, no one was playing them. There was a half dozen
regulars that played these machines all the time when they were full
pay. All were 7-star players and one guy had over 5,000,000 TR points
on his card. Guess Harrah's didn't want them hanging around anymore.

The $1 Pickem progressives were back in their usual position --
$17,000+ on the clock.
