Harrahs Prairie Band question

I'm considering a trip to Harrahs Prairie Band and was curious of some
examples of what bounceback various forum members are getting for what
amount of coin-in.

Any other info on the casino/restaurants/hotel is appreciated.

Thanks.

I had never been there before, but drove the 45 minutes from Ameristar-
KC to check it out. I played 2-3 hours on $1 AA (around $10k coin-in)
and had about $20 in food comps, and was told they don't have cash
back. A few weeks later I got a postcard in the mail "based on my
play" for the previous 2 weeks for $16 in cash. It is only valid at
Prairie Bend. It's only good for 3 weeks so I doubt I will be able to
use it, but in my case bounceback was between .1 and .2%. There was
only one other person playing AA while I was there, though it was
around 11pm on a weeknight. With Ameristar having downgraded
absolutely EVERYTHING, I'm sure I'll be making more trips there.

The bounce back at Prairie Band is not that great and the coupons
are usually spread out over several days. We take our motorhome and
spend the night, cashing in some coupons the day we arrive and the
rest the next day. They give us free parking in their RV lot and
provide shuttle service to the casino.

We have found the bonus points playing at Prairie Band to be much
better than Harrah's KC. In fact just about every other Harrah's we
have visited gives better bonus points than KC. A few days ago we
played in Harrah's Laughlin and got 4 bonus points for every 1 base
point.

About once a month (or less) PB will let you cash in Total Reward
points for cash -- up to 20,000 points ($200) -- and at the same
rate as using the points for comps. (Unlike KC which only gives
half rate for cash). The dates and times are very restrictive,
usually only one day a month and may have a time window as well.

Interesting about Harrah's Laughlin, the casino also owns a
convenience store where we parked (for free) in our motorhome. We
could use TR points for purchases -- magazines, food, gasoline,
propand for the RV, etc. Good deal!

Would you say it's lower than KC? For $10K coin-in at H KC I receive
$100 cash (2 x $50), plus $100 meals (2 x $50).

Tyson, you made the drive to Prairie Band from Ameristar in 45
minutes? It looks longer then that on a map.

Thanks for the replies.

Did you go I-70 to US75, or is there a better route? Thanks.

Prairie Band has a pretty decent buffet. I don't think they get
many Diamond players so they treat us very well. The Diamond lounge
is really nice but the food selection is limited -- pretzels, M&Ms,
etc. You can get 'real' food but for a price. No alcoholic
beverages served. There is hardly ever anyone in the lounge (not
many Diamond players?). We have not visited the steak house. Hotel
rooms are standard gernic rooms.

We now drive over in our motorhome. They have an excellent RV park
and let us stay for free, i.e., doesn't come off our comp points.

You are getting much better bounce back than we do at KC. Typically
we get about $20-25 per week and that is for both of us. Probably
because you are outside of the 'locals' market.

Prairie Band sends out a booklet each month with coupons, offers, and
promotions. We each get one and the cash coupons are around $15 each
but only two per booklet; one for the first half of the month and the
other for the second half. Then we also get lots of other mailers and
flyers throughout the month. By being flexable on dates and spending
the night, we can usually put together around a $100 worth of coupons
for a single trip. Again we only visit once a month or less.

It takes us about 90 minutes for the drive to Prairie Band from our
home in Leavenworth.

Yes, that is the best route. Take the Kansas Turnpike to Topeka, then
I-70 to US 75. Prairie Band is about a mile or two west of 75 but
there are plenty of signs so you can't miss it. We sometimes take the
country roads from Leavenworth, a little shorter route but slower.
But then we are retired and have plenty of time.

Do you have a host contact?

We do not have a host so can't help you out on contacts. Although we
both play $ machines (and usually on the same card) we don't visit
often enough to make much of a ripple.
