Has anyone received this offer from Harrah's Las Vegas? $25 slot play upon arrival, and for every 50 Base Reward Credits earned, you'll get another $25 in free slot play with no limit on how much you can earn. This offer includes a two night stay.
Am I missing something here? Does this only apply to regular slots and not VP? I guess I need to call Harrah's LV Casino Services.

i didn't receive the offer, but are you sure it doesn't read 500 base reward credits? (that's a common formula at several harrah's locations... 500 base for $25 in slot play).
$25 for only 50 base would be a heck of a "rebate" on coin-in and most uncharacteristic of HET.

It definately says 50 base reward points will get you another $25 in slot play. I'll need to call them to see what's up.

$500 coin-in playing video poker gets you $25 in slot play?
perhaps... in 1997. (even then, that would be a stretch.)
if it is indeed a real offer (and not a typo or marketing snafu) and it applies to all your coin-in with no cap, it's incredibly generous. if my calculations are correct, it represents a 10% rebate (in slot play) for slots and a 5% rebate for video poker, both of which are *ten* times more than HET's regular formula for these sorts of promos.

When my husband and I play at the same time at the same casino, we've seen
offers like that - most recently as last summer. Harrah's Joliet used to
send cards as part of their bounce back promos. For him, it would be
something like 2,320pts for $50 in free play and escalating for $100 and
$200. For me for the same marketing card it might be 100pts or 350pts for
the same offer.
We found the point disparities to be amusing and interesting. I would think
of this offer like a variation on Free Play since it's effectively the same
time. But the breakage on it is higher since you have to go through the
rig-a-ma-roll of going to the Total Rewards counter to get the points
validated and then to the cage to get the cash. Mostly it's an attempt to
get you in and playing instead of the easy of a TITO free play ticket that
makes a potential money grab and go less likely.
