The DataBase shows the $1/$2 multiplays MIA since July.

Naaat Reeely. The database says that as of the end of July, they
were missing. It ALSO says "These machines have been in and out of
service several times recently". Hence: my question to your 4994,
wait.....4995, wait....4997 members as to whether we are now in
an "in" cycle or an "out" cycle.

I often suspect that references to things that "have been
reinstalled" after they were removed really just means that two
different people reported and that one missed what the other didn't.
As soon as I saw that, for example, the Riviera had "reinstalled"
their lone dollar FP JOB, I knew it was probably just missed by one
person. That machine is a humongous slow coin plunker over near the
sports book. Its been there since Elvis played the Riv and would
take a crane to move. And another crane to move back.

The DataBase says that during July (not the end of July) those
machines were reported MIA, and that this is their last reported
status.

5001 is the current count.

vpFREE Rules and Policies states "Members are also expected
to report DataBase inventory changes in casinos they visit, unless
they consider a particular report to be detrimental to their best
interests".

Accordingly, everyone's working assumption should be that the
DataBase always reflects any known significant inventory changes,
because members are automatically sharing this information with
the membership immediately. It is my hope that requests by individuals
for a current update will always be unsuccessful, because any known
changes will have already been reported.

Your suspicion is often correct and that's why MIA is the operative
terminology. The BLOG <http://members.cox.net/vpfree/BLOG.htm>,
which records inventory changes includes a MIA link to #20 in
the vpFREE FAQ which states "MIA means that a video poker
machine(s) has been downgraded, removed, moved to an unknown
location ... or isn't MIA and has just been overlooked. A confirmation
of any MIA report is appreciated."

Tom, I have been lax in not dropping a note sooner.

Silverton has a small bar in the Keno area that is
only open on weekends. The bartops can be played
anytime. The three left most machines contain dollar
progressives, several games, one of which is a 9/6 JOB
which also has a progressive on the SF. Most
importantly, sometime in the last eight months or so
the meter over the bar has been disconnected which
makes these games hard to find unless one is in the
know.
There is another error in the data base. Host
Bonnie Liter resigned over six months ago to move
somewhere closer to her fiancee.

Disclaimers first.
I feel humbled by those that post trip reports
including restaurant reviews, sometimes for each
evening. And those that state they played 270,324
hands of VP with X results, I do not keep that kind of
records!! I am half drunk also.

This was a 23 day trip, very tiring, has taken me
ten days to recover. I should have gone for only 20 or
21 days.

Highlights. Lunch with Stanford Wong. He signed a book
of his for me. Dinner with Karen Allison, Scot Krause,
et. al. I hate eating alone, and since this was a solo
trip, these meals helped A LOT! Hitting a progressive
at the Mirage for $6010. A $1 8/5 JOB as I recall. And
I was down some $5K at the time.
Musing: I moved 10 times, stayed in 8 different
hotels, ended up about $1K ahead overall after losing
$1K the last day. Bummer. Paid for no meals, except SW
and companion made me pay my share of the lunch bill
at Garduno's even though we used my 50% off LVA
coupon!! All rooms comped except for the booking
mistake I made that cost me around $100. My own fault,
but the logistics of these trips are tough!! Oh, yeah,
I got backed off at the Mirage and the Gold Coast. I
guess the KA comp is now out of the question. Did
manage a comp to DISHES from my 3 card poker and craps
play after the backoff, so there!!

Lowlights: The 8/5 Bonus progessives at the
Stardust were very high, around $3K in the red suits,
even the bartenders said it was weird, no one had hit
them for five of so days, neither did I. Played the
FPDW coin dropper at the Plaza for around an hour or
two every day and never hit the ducks, much less the
Royal but lost little money there, the only gas card I
earned was at Nevada Deuces of somesuch playing
dollars. But Willie is still my favorite bartender.
Hit the $1 bartop Pick 'Em at the Hilton a lot. I
stayed there three different times, did hit two quads
my first stay so did not lose a lot, earned $192 in
cashback. Rumor has it that their comp structure is
being downgraded. And I played their DDB progressive
when the Royal was over $10K, someone hit it at over
$12K when I was elsewhere.
Just proof reading this tired me out again. So I am
off. Jeopardy is on, anyway:-) More later if anyone
expresses an interest.

That depends on the meaning of "is."

A great story is one which makes the reader want more.
How / why did you get backed off?
No backroom stuff?
Please tell us the rest of the story.

This is after all, a VP site. No backrooms. Just
polite backoffs. And at the Gold Coast I lost close to
$2K in thirty minutes, thought about asking if if was
because I was not losing fast enough, thought better
about it.
