Compared to the River Palms next door - Harrahs Laughlin appeared very old.
There were very few full pay VP machines. The employees were friendly and
the room was okay but for a first trip to Laughlin it was not what I was
expecting for a Nevada casino. But for free it was okay.
I stayed there for two nights in November. The package included free room, free tix to Laughternoon in Laughlin and a duffel bag. The room was in their (older) North Tower. It was clean and comfortable, but showing some wear. It was fine for two nights, but luxurious it's not.
The only quarter full-pay I found was some 9/6 JB in three slant-top Game Makers on the back wall overlooking the river. They weren't full pay for me. They sucked me dry. I did see a couple of 9/6 JB in 50 cents and dollar, but didn't try them.
I would skip the show unless a)You're over 65 or under 12, or b)You're losing badly and need an excuse to get away from the machines.
You can always take the room, give Harrah's some minimal play on their few full-pay babies, and then go next door to River Palms for serious play.
BTW, if you want free rooms in Laughlin, you may want to give the Pioneer a little play. I played $3 blackjack for two hours, and they're sending me offers out the wazoo.
