Harrah's Laughlin PRE Trip Report

A buddy and I had made our first trip to Laughlin (from the
Northwest) last spring and have stayed twice at the Flamingo. My
wife wants to go now so we are making a 9 day trip to Laughlin,
Sedona AZ, and Las Vegas. In the past we have made 3-5 trips to LV
each year, but we're exploring Reno and Laughlin now looking for the
best combination of games and amenities.

Based on the great information available here in this forum I
decided that Harrah's in Laughlin would be our best choice given
that we are predominantly $1.00 VP players (and we adhere to the
playing charts to maximize out potential return!). I called a host
at Harrah's who's name was in the forum and described to him
(honestly) our play - mostly $1.00 VP with $12,000 to $16,000 per
day through the machines depending on our luck. We are mainly coffee
shop and buffet types (not going until May so the buffet will be
back up) and just want a comfortable, clean, and friendly place to
stay with a decent room and view.

After a 10 minute conversation about the property and ourselves the
host was comfortable enough to offer us casino rate coming in ($26
weekday, $44 weekend) with the understanding that we could likely
have our room and food comped based on the play I indicated. What I
appreciated most was that this was not the typical "host"
conversation where you never get any commitment and everything seems
clouded in mystery. He was willing to trust what I told him for a
first time visit and he went out of his way to describe everything
about their players card and comps program (which is national), as
well as the casino & hotel. He even asked that I remind him on
arrival that we are there for our 40th wedding anniversary (perhaps
a dinner in the offing?). In addition he even told me of a Harrah's
players charter flight from our location to Laughlin that they run
every month - it's made available to their players at certain levels
and he was certain that we would qualify if we attained the playing
levels I described. That would sure beat the heck out of flying into
LV and driving or shuttling to Laughlin!

Hopefully the 99-100+% games will still be there in May, and I'll be
watching these forums for updates before we depart. If you are
considering a trip to Laughing for VP, it certainly appears that
Harrah's deserves a great deal of consideration!

Welcome, we need a Northwest reprsentitive.

So, Sedona is in the tour...why? I live 3500 ft. up and 32 miles
from Sedona. Seeing the Red Rocks, or what? I just drank an Oak
Creek Nut Brown ale pint minutes ago.

Anyway, if you are striving for an easy in an out, Bullhead City
International is it. I bet within 20 minutes of opening the door of
the plane you can be playing at Harrahs!

Go for it, they just might get you back. I just experienced a
comp/promo BJ tourney offer after a nine year absence. The employees
are great.

My first Laughlin royal happened in 1995 at Harrahs.

The new games replaced the old games...practice your 10/7 DB and
Jacks. TITO is King.

My Harrrahs rating has gone way up, any fly-in offer is tops!

Room rates are super cheap in Laughlin. Your coming in rates through
your host are not all that great. I checked the on line booking, and
the rates for "Joe Blow" off the street for May are $25 weekdays, and
$52 weekends. It will most likely be a moot point, as with your level
of play, you should have no trouble getting them comped. The real
plum is the flights by Harrahs. Those are super deals, and if you can
snag a free flight later on based on your play, you will see how
great they are. I have been on maybe 7 to 10 various flights from
Northern California, but they do not service my area any more. Have a
great trip, and be sure you check out some of the other places in
town.

My wife's brother Larry Sprague does jeep tours and
hot air balloon rides in Sedona and that is the reason
for our visit there. Thanx for the feedback!

Best,
Bud
