Harrah's Las Vegas 8/5 Bonus Poker Gone

Just got back from Harrah's Las Vegas. The two remaining 8/5 $1-$2
single line Bonus Poker have been downgraded on the two uprights in the
Poker Place next to the Buffet. This was the last game in any Harrah's
property I was willing to play to get my wife's Diamond card for 2008.

Guess I will have to play Craps instead. I did play some $1 9/6 Job
single line at the Venetian so I suspect we will stay there after our
Harrah's offers dry up.

The Gold Coast had some comfortable slant top single line optimum play
machines at the .25, .50 and $1 level.

Played the recently moved .25 Dueces Wild Progressive at the Palms.
It's now near the Buffet. Much better location in my opinion. Much
quieter, the temperature is more even and it's more comfortable too.
It's more comfortable in that they use actual chairs instead of the
attached ones that had a fixed position.

Very sad news. It's is nearly impossible to find any full-pay machine
in any Harrahs Strip casino below the $5 level. Caesars pre-conversion
had such an array of choices. So much for that. Gone, like the $1
gallon of gas.

Even you $5 players aren't safe. 8/5 Jacks has been creeping in,
slowly but surely. Last Flamingo trip showed one and only one $5 full-
pay on the far right side. No wonder high limit was 95% empty.

Noticed the same thing at Paris and Ballys this week. Very sad indeed.

Never thought I would find something where Atlantic City edges out
Vegas but playable VP seems to be it - even at Harrahs properties.

Watch for a serious cutback in offers from HET properties in the near
future. Someone's gotta pay for the buyout, it's usually the players,
one way or another.

That and the uninspected shuttered rooms.

But Harrahs still has to bring in a certain quantity of players to
please the "buyouters". I think that's why they sent out their New
Year's Eve offers so early. Harrahs must realize players are shifting
their business elsewhere. The Caesars' hosts are well aware their
high rollers have abandoned them. So the poorer paytables only result
in higher profits if there are actually people in the casino playing
them.

I want to see what the Harrahs' properties offer AFTER new management
steps in. If Harrahs drives enough business away now the new managers
can make a great impression simply by reversing the moves Harrahs has
made. Players will return if those paytables get loosened up a bit.
Word gets around very quickly.

In the meantime, wait them out and enjoy gambling elsewhere.

use the remaining comps play 1 point and find a new main casino to get room food comps with playable vp. Time to move on bye harrahs

There is no new management - there are new owners who are keeping the
same managers that is what often happens in an LBO these days -
Loveman is still CEO, Selesner is running Caesars - they stripped out
a layer of middle management - Marilyn Winn who oversaw the GMs of
Rio, Ballys and Paris is gone - but will not be replaced-
