Harrah's/Harvey's Lake Tahoe

Lake Tahoe itself is family friendly. As I previously stated, "Tahoe has
so much more to offer in addition to casinos and is family friendly
regardless of the kid's ages."

I'm not suggesting, nor have I ever suggested, the OP hang out in the
casino all day with his 9 month old. Crime occurs everywhere including in
one's backyard.

Tahoe is absolutely gorgeous. I recommend taking a lake cruise. The wharf is just two miles from Harrah's. South Lake Tahoe is also only an hour by car from Reno.

South Tahoe Express runs several buses a day between the Southshore Tahoe casinos and the Reno Airport. It's about $50 roundtrip. I used to spend a lot of time at the Lake. It's definitely a nice little casino vacation.

Hope the above doesn't encourage anyone to try making that drive in an hour. It's possible, but not at the speed limits posted.

It's 57.7 miles from downtown to Harrah's LT via 395, much of it posted at 70. Beware that middle section which drops down to 50. Even so, my GPS show 1 hr 15 minutes if you follow all speed limits, which few do. So a little over an hour with no traffic or weather is reasonable.

To my surprise, the alternate route via 431 and 28 through Incline Village adds only 4 miles and 10 minutes. It's much more scenic. Just make sure it's a clear day.
