I have posted these experiences over on the Harrahs group as well, but I
wanted to share with this group as I've been mostly a lurker for a few years &
never had much of interest to contribute. So here goes: Platinum benefits (for
those of us mid-level players)
I've been Platinum here in my hometown for more than a couple of years & I no
longer bother to be disappointed by the "benefits" of such. They made such a
big marketing deal at the beginning of the year about Platinum & its' benefits
that I e-mailed them & got some lame response about how they're sure my play
last year - which I mentioned had suffered a period of inactivity due to a
severe car accident - will make me Diamond this year.
It is now September & my tiers points are 5704 which is the biggest insult
yet. In July, I had acquired 7,770 tier points & my online account today says
5704 - despite a trip/stay to Harrahs-Vegas for 6 days in late July. Nobody at
Harrahs seems very interested in figuring that out - despite a phone call &
numerous e-mails - nor at any time did I print out my tier status earlier in the
year, much to my regret. I had actually been considering a "push" to Diamond
after my stay in Vegas by commiting to more frequent local visits until I came
home & saw that!
For years, I regularly received 4 nights free monthly at my local, home
casino (Sun - Thurs only & were RARELY available even if I called the day I got the
offer) I can only assume they designate so few rooms for that code as to be
worthless. I really don't know why they bother with the postage! I now no
longer receive even those offers - 3 months running now. I did receive a windshield
placard I can use for free valet parking. That honestly is the only
difference I see between my Platinum play & all other gold card members. Why bother?
