Harrah's East Chicago

I was at Harrah's East Chicago and can basically confirm everything you saw. Basically the only good games are the two $5 Triple Play NSUD games.

Best 25c game is the triple play fast action playing 6-5 jacks which is 97.6% at the progressive reset. I estimate the feed at about 1%. Other games on this bank are at least 1-1/2% worse!

Best $1 game is probably the 8-5 DDB which also adds about 1% total feed to the five progressives. (Obviously pretty pathetic!!)

I am showing this to the national group so they can be very worried what will happen to all the Horseshoe properties now that Harrah's got them.

What is interesting is that there are two other casinos one mile down the road. At the Majestic Star which is one of them, every Game King and multi-line game in the house (including Multi-Strike) has 9-6 jacks and many have better games than that. (The only exception is 1c 100 play which has 9-6 BP Deluxe.)

Friday night 11:44 pm
The machines on first floor are now up and running AND as expected
al the paytables have been totally TRASHED. This includes the
old .25 NSUD, the WHite Hot aces (now 6/5), and the .05 50 plays.
One is still out of service but it appears that everyone has
terrible paytables. Harrahs has done it again! The triple play $5
nsud is still intact but we anticipate that too wil be trashed when
the move it to TITO with the rest. While every machine was not
checked there apppears to be othing else even REMOTELY playable.
What is scary is that the place was very busy with people playing
this "refuse". We plan to go on a comp burn, room use, coupon
cashing, reward credit binge. Although things may change at some
point I see absolutely no reason to give them any play.

Looks like time to move somewhere else. Ednar

I was there too yesterday and actually saw you later in the evening. I
apologize for not introducing myself as I was somewhat preoccupied
with finding a seat at a playable machine.

If yesterday was any indication of the Harrahs migration to Majestic
then we may be in for unpleasant times. I arrived at 8:30am and was
there until 8:00pm. During that entire time I could not get a seat at
the $.01 100 Multi-Play machines and it wasn't for a lack of trying.
It was as if people were nailed to their seats with a crowd of
onlookers all ready to pounce on the first available machine. What's
particularly irksome is not that all the machines were taken, but that
there were people playing 5 hands at a penny a hand from the moment
they sat down. According to a friend who plays BPD on the 100s
whenever he can, this egregious misuse of the 100s is a regular
occurence. Majestic may have to step in at some point to limit play at
these machines to reasonable minimum levels. Unfortunately this
situation may get worse before it gets better.

Despite my resounding initial success on $.25 Multi-Strike on Friday
nite I was completely crushed by the $.5 Multi-Strike. Not a single 4
of a kind, only 2 full houses, and the level 1 qualifiers running well
below the normal rate. It was so bad that I was actually tempted to
hit the management with the magic words "state gaming board", but then
I wondered whether Indiana even has such a thing. Needless to say I
can't recommend the $.5 Multi-Strike. BDLX, NSUD, and DDB seem to be
the ticket (I leave JOB off the list as I find its drudgery
intolerable) and for a change of pace maybe $.25 Multi-Strike.
Attendance is definitely on the rise so plan your visits accordingly.
