Does anyone know how difficult it is to get and upgrade to a "real"
suite upgrad at Harrahs or Rio, if you are a regular Diamond card
holder. Has any Diamond card or platinum tried $20 at check-in.
Harrahs Diamond Card Room Upgrades
Easiest way is to get on good terms with host. Last two years, I have 1600
sq. ft. suites and never booked or played for one MY bottle of Geneva scotch
in room win I arrive or shortly after. the only exception was bumped due
VERY large room rate and they were really sold out. This was in Rio,Vegas
Will be there the 28 of this month with a couple friends I have just
confirmed suite and adjoin room for friends.

Thank you for the response.
My diamond status is based on play in the Chicago area Harrahs, when
in Vegas I tend to spread my play around, earning between 500-2000
base points per day at harrahs, I would guess if I concentrated my
play I would put at least 1000 base points a day. Do you think this
would be in the range where a host would approve an upgrade. My
experience at harrahs is that you get great upgrades etc at
your "home" casino...but not at other properties. I Have not hit
10,000 pts at vegas properties...
Do you have a host you could recommend?

When you have already played $100,000 Why worry about $20?

I don't think most people would worry about $20-- but would it work?
When I've been in the diamond check-in area at the Rio, there have
been just a few people behind the counter, all speaking with one
another, and usually also a casino host type of figure sitting at a
desk where he can see everyone. I would feel weird trying to slip
someone a $20 bill under those conditions, and would suspect it would
be frowned upon.

I agree. Been to Rio many times. Besides it is not necessary. With that kind
of action just ask.
