Harrah's Demolishes its Barely Playable Jacks or Better

Harrah's will start installing 7/5 video poker.

Sad news is they allready have started this at the quarter level. I was in Vegas 3/20-3/24/05 and I went to visit a bartender friend who works at the Harrahs Piano Bar. As we were discussing the recently renovated bar I decided to double check the VP bartops and the $.25 JOB was 7/5......I became disgusted and did not check the rest of the games. My buddy says oh yeah of course they have to pay for the company's expansion.

Happy Gambling,

Liz

As I said before, as long as people keep playing at Harrah's owned
casinos and they keep making record profits, there is no reason not
to keep making the games worse. Only when people stop using those
wonderful offers the marketing department mails out will they get
the message. Complaints do not help if you are still playing. They
will only understand a loss in income.

I hardly ever weigh in..but I'll sure weigh in on this one. It sure seems like Harrah's
greedy. And the sad part is, in Tahoe, (after the merger goes through), Harrah's will
own three of the four casinos there. Best advice (as given earlier) is just don't play.

My husband & I used to go to Harrah's Tahoe every August

for 4 days. We usually stayed in Reno for a couple of days, at the
end of the trip. We did this for 15 straight years.

Three years ago, we checked in to Harrah's Tahoe on a Monday
evening, played FPDW for several hours on one of THREE banks of MG
machines that included this game. and retired at about midnight.
Tuesday morning, at about 6:00am, I was back at the bank that we had
played the evening before. I quickly noticed that the deuces game
was now NSUD.

I called over a slot person, who denied that any change had been
made. I then called the slot shift manager. Same denial. I
requested that the casino manager page me when he arrived. He did,
and I received the same answer; no change had made to the pay table.

After discussing this with my husband, who absolutely verified that
we had been playing FPDW the previous evening, I decided to drop the
matter, ruminating, w/o logical reason of course, about others who
had their kneecaps (and other important body parts) riddled with
bullets, after asking too many questions. (-:

We both stopped playing deuces wild, but continued playing vp at
Harrahs, switching to a ripe 8/5JOB prog. While chasing the royal,
I was again paged by the casino manager, who sheepishly showed me
some computer print-outs, indicating that slot mechanics had opened
all the MG machines, which had contained the FPDW, some time after
2:00am. I thanked him for the information, and restrained myself
from asking any more questions.

That was the last time that we stayed at Harrah's Tahoe. By the
following year most playable (for me) vp had disappeared.

I try to avoid Harrah's now, wherever I am, as I rarely find vp in
which I have any interest.

I will admit, that if I was into playing dollar Slots, I would
probably stay at Harrah's Tahoe again. Their dollar and higer denom.
slots appear to be very lively.

This might be an inside joke for Harrah's employees but I guess that
when you questioned these people about the change in machines, they
all smiled while lying to you (company policy sort of).

Staying away is exactly what Harrahs wants advantage players to do.
What we, as advantage players, need to do is to is spread the word to
the ploppies/casual gamblers about the poor value that Harrahs offers
them for their gaming dollar. When THOSE players stop going to
Harrahs, then they might begin to improve their gaming offerings.

How about shorting the stock near it's all time high? There are many
documented cases where a companies stock performs poorly after a large
merger. I think I have talked myself into it; tomorrow I attack the
stock.

Apparently that's what a lot of gamblers have been doing, latest "gaming
win" figures for South Lake Tahoe (same month last year comparisons):
Jan. –40.80%
Feb. –12.53%
Inclement weather and other variables were only part of the cause, as
the same figures for Reno were –9.65% and –5.07%, respectively.
The 40% drop (from 25M to 15M) is so stunning that it will probably
attract the attention of something even as big and dumb as Harrah*s.
Use their free room offers, cash their welfare checks, and play
somewhere else ("as long as there is still an somewhere else").

Heyyyy...thanks for setting me straight on that. I was not aware that Caesar's was
being sold off to Columbia Sussex. At least there'll be a little more competition in
Tahoe. I rather enjoyed playing at the Horizon as opposed to Harrah's when I was
there last month.

That makes me feel good that I stiffed them on a junket to Tahoe in
January. Maybe someone will figure out why I went down the street and
lost my money at Caesar's.
