Harrah's Cherokee NC

OK, I'm supposed to be in the Smoky Mountains in early October. Is
it worth a trip over from Gatlinburg to Harrah's Cherokee for
anything--even the food? There's no database page that I can find
here.

The drive over Newfound Gap to Cherokee will be
spectacular for leaf viewing if not too late in
October. The Casino is not good as compared to other
areas. Mostly video reel slots called "Lock'n'Roll"
where you spin, select what to hold, and spin again.
Blackjack is at a table with a "dealer" attendant who
oversees video at each seat and takes/pays bets. Not
sure if there is any VP.

I would recommend the trip over just for the view.

I _believe_ that these machines are class II. There is something
incrediably odd about the way they perform, look, etc. You don't
see the "normal" IGT platform games. The blackjack "cards" are
computer generated on a little screen in front of you. So you must
depend on what appears to be a less than random number generator (i
guess this is part of the Class II/Bingo thing?). No double after
split, no resplit. Seven Sisters food is weak though service was
good. The buffet is hit or miss (mostly miss).
I certainly wouldn't make a trip from Gatlinburg to Cherokee for the
food or gaming(or culture/tourism either). Gatlinburg is sooo much
nicer than Cherokee.

Thanks. I'm not surprised at how crappy the selection of games is. I
once visited the predecessor to this casino, which was housed in a
large metal "Butler building." It had horrible VP, but I played some
nickel DW and hit four ducks anyway. Ran like heck.
