Here's a blurb from my soon-to-be posted inaugural TR on Laughlin via
HET comped charter:
The next morning we were up at the crack of dawn (for us) at 7AM for
the 10AM departure out of Bullhead. Those who were taking HET
transportation to the airport would've had to have gotten up at ~ 5AM
for the 6:15AM bag pull and 7:30A departure to the airport. OK, I
can see arriving two hours early to McCarran on a Monday morning but
two hours early at Bullhead which averages about five departures per
WEEK? How freaking stupid is that? C & I arrived with our rental
car about 8:40AM and observed a mob scene. Some genius scheduled a
weeks worth of flights within ~ONE hour of each other. Yeah, like
TSA and the airline ticket counter can process 600+ passengers in
about 75 minutes. Well, after standing in line with our charter
group for THREE+ hours outside, we finally boarded the plane at
11:50AM. All I can say is it's a damn good thing this wasn't the
middle of July or there would've (literally) been passengers passing
out on the pavement where we stood. No HET representative was
present to communicate the delay or offer any sort of amenities (the
small café at the airport was picked clean) like water or a snack to
ease the situation. Great planning Harrahs. Keep your guests
standing around for three hours when you could've continued to pick
the ploppies' pockets. Letter to the GM, Air Programs Manager and
Customer Service Manager was drafted on the flight home and mailed
today.
