Harrah's Birthday "gift"

Hi Gang:
Hedy and I have earned close to 110,000 base rewards credits at Harrah's
properties on my card this year already so we've done the requirements for
Seven Stars in 2009. We are now working on a second Seven Stars card for
her.
Today, I got in the mail "an indulgence just for you" birthday card from
Harrah's. It's an offer valid from Aug. 1 to Oct. 31 (my birthday is Aug. 6)
and it states: "Play at your favorite slot machine or table game and we
will match the base rewards credits earned on that day, up to 5,000."
Is this a joke, an insult or what?
They're telling me that if I put through $50,000 of coin-in action in one
day, probably risking thousands of dollars doing so, they'll give me $50 IN
COMPS!! Or better yet, turn that 5,000 base credits into cash on a
two-for-one basis for a resounding 25 bucks!!
I can't get over this. Back when I was a diamond card holder I would get
$100 cash for my birthday (with no play requirements) or at least a free
meal for two in one of Harrah's gourmet restaurants.
Is this how Harrah's treats its Seven Stars guests these days? Did anyone
else get this insulting offer?
I was wondering if anyone could give us the name/email address of the
Seven Stars head honcho so we could voice our displeasure.
Regards,
CoachVee & Hedy

HET has been doing this for birthday's since the beginning of 2009. It is not
much. The only positive thing is that you can pick the day after you play on a
strong day.

Going for a second 7* card, may not be what it was in years past. Other than
the free trip and annual dinner, you may only see good offers for one of you at
each casino. We have both been 7* for years. The last few months we noticed
good offers for only one of us at almost every HET property in the US. The
other gets minimal offers, like rooms, that do not add much, in spite of
considerable play on both cards at all properties. Some offers started coming
addressed to Mr. or Mrs., clearly combining the couple. We have been told by
many good sources that this is corporate HET program.

Offers at most properties are based strictly on play. Diamond players with high
ADTs get better offers than many 7*. Being 7* gets very few extra promotions.
Many 7* unwritten benefits have disappeared. You can no longer get into any
event or promotion because you are 7*. It is not what is was in the past.

Coach, its just one of many reasons why I'm in the process of "leaving" HET.
Normally at this time of the year I would have about 50,000 tier pts. This year
I only have 24,000 and alot of it is because Mary is still in love with Ballys.
But I have informed her that the days of BCSS( "Big Chief Seven Stars ") are
numbered !
I don't need a free trip to a place that doesn't have any playable VP. And as
far as being treated special as a seven star player..the only special treatment
I get is not waiting in line. Nice but not worth the price ! There are other
casinos giving me more for less play !

Got this too.

Last year was a frosty cake left out in the sun.

I'll take the $25.
