Many, if not most, of these "Best of" articles and lists, especially in magazines, are actually 'pay-to-play' puff pieces, with the results somehow -not implying anything here, by any means ; ) - seemingly heavily skewed in favor of entities that just coincidentally happen to have advertisements in, around, and surrounding the article. Now whether the ad is taken out AFTER the poll has been completed, in order to garner favorable publicity, or BEFORE the poll, who knows.
I know that, for a fact, a certain type of shop in LA was named as the "Best (That Type of) Shop in LA" with a three page article describing the shop, giving its history, the story of its founder, etc. after the payment of $10K. That came directly from the shop owner, not from an internet rumor, or what might have been said by a friend of a friend of the owner's barber, etc.
I give as much credence to these lists as I do to political comments by actresses and actors, and to cow farts.

Many, if not most, of these "Best of" articles and lists, especially in magazines, are actually 'pay-to-play' puff pieces, with the results somehow -not implying anything here, by any means ; ) - seemingly heavily skewed in favor of entities that just coincidentally happen to have advertisements in, around, and surrounding the article.

The best of Las Vegas used top be in the ballpark. Past years best VP--- Palms, Southpoint, .ETC.
I mean if there was a category for WORST VP Harrahs might win that.
