Harrah's $1 VP

Just returned from Harrah's Laughlin. Great trip - rooms are
excellent, buffet is on a parallel with the better (not best) Las
vegas buffets, and our $11,000 per day $1 VP coin-in got our room,
food, and gift shop purchases comped - $190 in all.

In addition to the full pay games listed in the FAQ, we found 6
other $1 machines with full pay JOB, DB, & DDB. Locations are as
follows:

TWO slant top TITO machines located across the room from the
entrance to The Range restaurant - against the windows in the far
right corner. It's a bank of 2 machines almost hidden from view.

INSIDE the High Limit area, in the middle right side as you enter,
is a bank of 8 slant top TITO machines with blue Game Maker signage.
Four of the machines (2 on each side) are $1 video keno, and the
other 4 (2 on each side) offer $1 full pay JOB, DB, & DDB. An "added
bonus" in the High Limit area is that the resident staffer will give
you a 24 hour key to the high roller rest rooms (free M&Ms and other
snacks in the sitting area).

This was our first visit to Harrah's Laughlin and the host I
contacted before our trip met us at registration, escorted us to the
Diamond Club (VIP) Total Rewards (slot club) booth area to get our
players cards, and gave us Diamond Club ID cards for the duration of
the trip which entitled us to use of their VIP lounge, special lines
for the coffee shop & buffet, 25% off all purchases in the shops on
the property, and just a whole lot of love from any staffer who saw
the card. Takes 100,000 points in a year to qualify for ongoing
Diamond Club status which would take us 2-3 trips of 3-4 days if we
are able to get away that much in a year. We'll see. In the meantime
we qualified during the trip for platinum status and that should
start the good offers coming in.

I'd like to report that we did great playing JOB and DB. I'd like
to, but alas it would be a lie! The 1st day neither of us could get
a decent session going and that drained $1,200 from our playing
kitty. The 2nd day we slowed down, shared a machine to preserve
capital until the bad streak passed, but it didn't and we dropped
another $600 with very limited playing time. The 3rd day we held our
own in the daytime with lots of play and that night we got into
several good sessions and netted a +$900 for the day leaving us at -
$900 for the visit. With $32,000 coin-in that's a little worse than
expectation if you don't hit a royal.

lizbak,

Glad they treated you right. So was this the first visit to Laughlin
or just to Harrahs? I am glad to see the new Market Square Buffet
get open. It was four months under renovation. Did you see if they
returned the shuttle bus stop down to the south end by the outdoor
arena? Did you notice any in-house table game promotion going on?

How was drink service in the non-smoking casio or even in the high
limit room? My experience is not good in non-smoking, especially
hiding in that northwest corner.

About the new VP discoveries, I think the two $1 MG are listed in the
DB with "non-smoking by northwest doors". In the high-limit area you
probably are referring to IGT Game Kings (with aqua blue glass) and
not Bally Gamemakers.

So they going to buy you a plane ride next time?

It only takes 10,000 Base Reward Credits to make
Diamond, not 100,000. Base Reward Credits are awarded
at 1 per $10 for VP, 1 per $5 for reel slots, and Pit
Crew discretion on table games. However, that does
equate to $100,000 coin-in on VP for Diamond.
