Harrah’s – Harvey’s Lake Tahoe, Reno

For Caesar’s players who value fun gambling and earning
tier credits over entertainment and dining the best place I’ve

visited is Harrah’s and Harvey’s
Lake Tahoe. Their offers for

out of towners are often good and they offer many free
flights

to visit. Of course,
outdoor activities abound.

More to the point all video poker machines give one tier
credit for $10 in play. For

dollar players there’s 9/6 DDB. For larger players 9/6 jacks are

everywhere. One of my
favorites – 50 play $.25, $.50, $1 with 9/6 Jacks and

9/7/4
Triple Double Bonus ($10 minimum play per game).

Thursday is Reward Credit Mulitplier day with 3X video
poker.

Harrah’s –Harvey’s
Tahoe is the best place at Lake Tahoe right now, but

the old Caesar’s Palace Tahoe, now the Montbleu, was
recently purchased

by the Eldorado Reno and should be getting many positive
changes.

For visitors to Reno, Harrah’s Reno is the place to avoid. Good video poker

is $25 per tier credit and the place really needs updating. Silver Circle 55

days are on Tuesdays with 2X reward credits and a free
buffet if you earn

55 tier credits.
Thursday is Reward Credit Multiplier day with 3X video poker.

Having avoided Harrah’s Reno,
Reno is probably the best and most
fun

place to gamble anywhere in the US.
for out of towners. #1 The Peppermill,

#2 the Atlantis, #3 the Grand Sierra, #4 the Silver Legacy.

For those driving from Las Vegas
the trip to Tahoe or Reno is about
7 – 8 hours.

Reno is a 90
minute drive from Lake Tahoe. Flying to Reno
is a treat compared

to Las Vegas
with major casinos offering free pickup to their casino and with

rental cars in the same building with the airport.

Thank you, Bil…@…com, for that very detailed summary!!!

A little counter feedback, Bill …

You’re right, in that Jacks is a lesser attractive game at Harrah’s Reno. However, there’s ample BP and I try to hit up H - Reno each time I’m in the area to gamble. As far as the property itself, I’m a sucker for “down home” hospitality; I find the employees and hosts incredibly anxious to please. And the Steakhouse is a delightful, classic experience.

“One size doesn’t fit all”, of course. So I’ll understand that H-Reno isn’t your cup of tea. But I personally find the property strong enough that I’d encourage most to at least give it a shot.

As far as the Eldorado buyout of Montbleu, I admire your optimism. However, my experience with Eldorado - Shreveport (where former inventories of 9/6 JB and 15/9 DW were decimated in the last couple of years) leaves me doubtful.

Don’t get me wrong; I love visiting Eldorado in Reno. It’s always a thrill when one of their Jacks progressive banks has a high meter. And I rate the property very highly on the hospitality front. Maybe they’ll have a little more empathy for gamblers in their back yard then for the unfortunate sods who used to patronize the Shreveport property …

Harrah Reno is old but big, comfortable, middle of everything and an EASY room comp midweek.

Give it a try!
