Hard Rock Downgrades?

As I entered the Hard Rock Las Vegas at 8 AM this morning, I could
tell something was different. Oh sure the prostitutes were filing out
the front door, as numerous as the graveyard dealers, glancing at me to
see if I was interested in a morning discount. (Maybe JT knows, are
they eligable for the Ellis Island casino workers drink free
promotion?) Anyway, when I got inside I found out that EVERY $2 and up
machine that contains 8/5 Bonus Poker was out of service with
technicians adjusting the settings. It appears that 99.1% machines
with 0.1% cashback (double for locals) may be too strong for the new
owners. Perhaps I am wrong and their FPDW experiment was so successful
that they are extending it to higher denominations!

That makes sense since it's a local bar/gaming chain that is actually
managing the casino. They probably figure if 97% or worse payback works in
their bars, why not the Hard Rock!

Today I did find some $1 and 50-cent (sorry, I forgot to look at the quarters on the machines) 8/5 Bonus Poker on which we played off our Free Play. One 2-sided bank in front of the Viva Las Vegas open lounge plus one row beside it (slots on the other side). The other 2-sided bank in front of that lounge was all 7/5.

The FPDW machines that don't accumulate slot club points were full of pro/skilled players today. You can not download Free Play on these machines.
