Hard Rock $1 and $2 NSUD Spin Poker - PLAY DEAD

(lecture to Paladin about Sunshine Policy snipped)

Dear Admin:

Please save me the speech. The speech is flawed in its premises on
many different levels, and henceforth in its analysis. In sum, I think
I understand human nature and the casino business much, much better
than you.

The speech may be flawed in its premises, from your perspective,
but nevertheless it represents vpFREE's editorial policies and
membership participation expectations.

I don't believe VPFree's intent was to put a $300/hr play online where
the (historically) likely scenarios are: a) a non-member professional
will burn it down, or b) a casino employee will read said post,
realize a mistake has been made, and alert management to the post. I
see nothing in (a) or (b) which causes VPFree or its membership to
gain from such a post. The result of what you are trying to accomplish
is to eliminate all professional play from the casinos, which is what
the casinos try to do when setting their machines and calibrating
their slot programs.

vpFREE's intent is to share information on all plays with all
members, and let the plays sink or swim in the open market.
Individual members may be well advised to keep a play non-public,
and vpFREE understands this position.

And, vpFREE isn't against professionals, by design. Rather, we
are for the vpFREE membership as a whole.

I have long assisted the Administrators over the years with assistance
with the database, but generally speaking, there has been an unwritten
rule not to discuss any denom higher than $1, unless Jacks are
involved. I'm happy to assist with anything at the $1 denom or smaller.

Your DataBae assistance has been appreciated. I'm not aware of
any unwritten disclosure rules.

While I enjoy the forum and try to make valuable contributions and
give insights to the gaming public at large, my primary focus here is
to protect my EV. As stated several times previously, those well
meaning posters cost me on average $15K/year, or roughly 10% of my
usual annual EV. So, this is already an expensive enough forum for me
to be a member of. It's not personal, it's just business, and it's
disappointing that of the professionals who post here, we don't get
the respect we deserve often enough (that is, when I'm not fighting
with them myself lol).

vpFREE endorses a sunshine policy on sharing information, subject
to FAQ #60 loopholes, and all video poker players are welcome on
vpFREE, if they observe the rules.

I enjoy your participation on vpFREE, however, you might
consider that all video poker players except yourself would
probably be better off if you didn't show an annual six figure
profit. The casinos might use some of the savings to enhance
paytables or benefits offered. We're not your partner and protecting
plays isn't in our best interest.

I'm happy to discuss this with you privately, if you wish.

I'll consider any public or private input concerning vpFREE
policies and attitudes.

I enjoy your participation on vpFREE, however, you might
consider that all video poker players except yourself would
probably be better off if you didn't show an annual six figure
profit. The casinos might use some of the savings to enhance

So, what you're saying is that I should be a victim of my own success?
That I should be penalized because I'm better at finding and executing
plays better than a recreational player? That's a pretty amazing
statement. A lot of people on BJ21 had the same mentality as well, but
Stanford was indiscriminate who he sold memberships to. I mean, you'd
walk into Mirage, and the posts would be printed up on a clipboard in
the double deck pit (and the day and swing pit bosses are two of the
sharpest people I know in the biz). BJ21 did more to wise up casino
execs about card counting than make players money. The casinos saved
literally millions, and Stanford made a few bucks. The players got
flyered for the most part. I see many similarities between VPFree and
BJ21. Stanford had no shortage of Walter Mitty types who knew how to
count a little, were playing red chips and out black chip play stuff.
In 2008, you'd better know a lot more about 21 than just counting
cards to take the money out consistently.

The difference here, is that I can probably work around the poster who
feels compelled to put a play out which likely no VPFree member can
get to, or which will be read by a casino employee where the play is
at. It's just one more play I have to scratch off the Rolodex. I still
have no shortage of them, the running joke in my peer group is that I
have to clone myself to get to all of them. The Hard Rock I knew I
wasn't going to get to anyway, and it's a waste of resources to fight
25 people for one machine. And if Mr. Bill had decided to play it,
even just to take a brief shot, I'd have more respect for him.

Finally, let me repeat myself again, it's your hobby, but it's my
business. It's your theory, but it's my practice. I believe I'm one of
the better posters here. Can I (and my brethren) get some courtesy in
return? To really think this issue in black and white terms is really
disingenuous, and as proven, is a lose/lose for the membership here.

I knew you were talking about me even before you
called me Mr. Bill. Thanks for having more respect
for me if I would have played the NSUD but I know when
I'm pushing my bankroll limit, so I saw no reason to
risk it in this situation.
