Happy Anniversary!

Hi Gang:
Hedy and I have had a lot of eerie things happen to us in casino/hotels
across the country but what occurred this past Saturday at Harrah's AC
undoubtedly tops them all.
We were celebrating our 11th wedding anniversary that day with some VP
play, dinner reservations at the Steakhouse and show tickets to see Penn and
Teller that night. We had had a productive day on Friday and were feeling
good about our chances of continuing our run of good luck on our special day.
But, before I go on, a little background is necessary.
The number eleven eleven (1111) has always had a special meaning to us. My
mother passed away on Nov. 11 and it seems that I've hit an inordinate
number of royals on that date or dates surrounding it. Whenever Hedy and I see
11:11 on the clock, we always say to each other,"I love you" and kiss. I
know it's silly ... and probably a bit sappy ... but that's what we do.
Anyway, for our anniversary I gave my bride the Open Heart diamond pendant
made famous by Jane Seymour (you've probably see the commercials on TV)
and she gave me a beautiful, engraved money clip.
We were playing after breakfast on Saturday and holding our own making an
occasional hit playing DDB at the dollar level. Then, suddenly, I heard
Hedy let out a scream and looked over to see her with her fist thrust in the
air.
"I got a royal she said," then she repeated it in a slightly higher octave.
I jumped up, looked at her screen and, sure enough, there it was ... a
$4,000 royal in hearts. She had held the A-J-K and the Q-10 had filled in!
Beautiful!
After the slot attendant came over to start the paperwork, we took our
obligatory picture and I sat down to record the particulars in our book ...
game, denomination, suit, cards held etc. I glanced at my watch to check the
time and noticed it was 11:16 a.m.
Then, it struck me.
"Do you think it's possible that you hit that royal at 11:11," I asked
Hedy, incredulously.
"No," she said. "Do you think?"
When the attendant came back with our money, we asked him if there was a
record of the time the jackpot was hit.
"Sure," he said. "It's right here at the bottom of the slip. It was hit at
11:11."
Oh, my God!
So, let's get this straight, we thought.
Hedy had hit a royal, in hearts, on our 11th wedding anniversary at
exactly 11:11 a.m. while wearing the open heart pendant I had given her that
morning!
We don't know about you, but we thought that was a little creepy.
Most people, we guess, like to think that there's a higher power out there
somewhere, that someone, or some thing, is looking over your shoulder,
watching out for you. And stuff like this makes you think that maybe, just
maybe, there's something to it.
But, guardian angels aside, the good news is that we came home with all
the money we had won and thoroughly enjoyed our anniversary weekend
celebration.
After a rocky few months in the casinos, including our 7 stars trip to the
Big Easy last week, it also feels good to head into our Laughlin/Vegas
trip this Friday on a resounding win.
Hopefully, the "force" will be with us again, including that guardian
angel sitting on my shoulder when I play in the World Series of Poker at the
Rio!!

CoachVee & Hedy

Congrats on your anniversary and big win. I believe in karma too. I believe I'm luckier than most people and I think having a positive attitude is the only way to walk into a casino.

love your trip reports.
