Thanks for posting this, I didn't realize that you could not talk about smoking vs non-smoking...hmm.

If Mr. Long's post was intended as humour, it sure missed the mark.

It's going to take me a couple of days to reply to Tom's post in full.

Let me just say for now that Tom's recollection does not match mine.

Possible Combinations:
1. I am wrong
2. Tom is wrong
3. We are both wrong

I'm certainly not trying to say anyone is lying intentionally. Tom, as far as I know is about the most honest guy on the planet. If he says it, it's because he believes it. I know he's got me by about 15 IQ points, so this really worries me. When people smarter than you, inform you, "you are in error" it is folly to ignore them.

We are talking about events of 20 years ago, and memory is a funny thing over those kinds of time spans, giving rise to expressions like, "to the best of my recollection."

As an example: I remember managing the team for nearly a full year.

I still have the teams paperwork records in storage, I'll get them to help shed light on things and refresh both our memories.

I have been wondering why Tom wasn't talking to me for 20 years. Now I can finally set things straight.

This post makes me very happy. I've been wanting to resolve this for years. I believe Tom knows that. I've asked multiple mutual friends to act as messenger between us, and all I was told was that he didn't want to talk to me.

Please allow 2 days for full reply.

I'm expecting at the end of this we'll be friendly again. I hope I'm right. There are few people I respect as much as Tom. A true deep blue genius if there ever was one.

Sincerely,

Frank Kneeland

I've changed my mind on posting a reply to Tom's huge post. He and I are going to try to figure out what really happened all those years ago in a friendly fashion together. And we're calling in some ringers that were around at the time, to see if they remember anything differently.

Then I'll let him reply to his own post after we have talked.

I think this is superior to getting into a discussion about it on vpFREE. I don't feel comfortable talking about his private business anyway...and since he made the claims, he's the best person to confirm or refute them. Also he's a special case. I trust him completely to say the truth, once he/we actually know what the truth is.

Hay, it was a long time ago. You try remembering exactly what you said to someone 20 years ago. It may be Friday before we get to talk.

On the subject of getting other hustlers 86'd from casinos. My advice is don't get involved in such tactics. It's not only dishonorable, it can be dangerous. Maybe white collar hustlers (big bankrolls) might get away with it against each other, but in the blue collar hustler world that dog won't hunt. Blue collar hustlers don't take that sort of thing lying down.

I agree with this. To say say that the thing with Tom & Myself is a long story would be an understatement. I'm waiting until after our meeting to talk more about it. Suffice to say we are working it out and it appears both of us may had been given bad information by 3rd parties.

This whole debacle may end up going down as the definitive text book example for "no matter your intelligence, it is impossible to make good decisions in the absence of good information.
