I have to agree with you, Ted. Back when we received one drawing
ticket for a 4OAK I spent most of my play time on the multi-plays
waiting for tickets and then filling them out. Add to that my disdain
for drum drawings (I'm 0 for over a hundred, although I do miss the
Stardust drawings in the showroom with the very short feathered
showgirl) and I just stopped collecting tickets for the mediocre prizes.H-L did do an electronic drawing one time and would draw one winner
every hour and post it on a board. I actually won that one time, but I
don't remember what it was. I believe it was for cash: $100 or
$150.Drew

Wow, you are one unlucky SOB! Not one time did you manually fill out a
ticket and win? No wonder I noticed your disdain for collecting paper in March at
the H-L 50-plays.
You do need some partial reenforcement to keep collecting tickets, filling
them out or activating them, and actually showing-up for the drawings. You got
to cash once in awhile. It wasn't Pavlov's dogs, but somebody elses rats who
proved this theory.
Maybe a few tales of success will help you continue in your effort to break
this pattern of futility? I have three times been selected, just in this year,
as the winner of the $25 in free-play at the Pioneer weekly tourney drawings.
No paper was involved, just a shake of the machine number tiles in a 400
quarter sized plastic slot bucket. OBTW, I cashed twice in the actual VP tourney
too.
Maybe some old tales of just having one paper ticket in the drum to win the
prize will help you? I am still watching the TV set I won in October 2003 from
the Pioneer. I didn't even have to be there, they called me up at home.
They insisted I collect the prize before the next weekly drawing, I obliged.
The mother of one ticket in a drum drawings happened in January 1999. My
first three night birthday offer from the Riverside got me a pink and a blue
ticket when I checked-in. I brought the girlfriend for the first out-of-towner.
They elected a King and a Queen each night. Back then Riverside gave drawing
tickets out for breathing, eating, sleeping and even playing...thousands of
daily tickets. I won with one for $500 cash and dinner for two in the Prime Rib
Room. (The gal thought I made a pact with the devil by the time I hit the
second quarter royal that trip)
I hope that helps in your pursuit of that first drawing win. It sure helped
me revisiting some highlights.

You got some hoop-jumping to do for this one. I wonder if one seat is as
good as the next? So, Drew does this drawing fit into the plans for the next H-L
visit?
