H.L 20th Anniversary giveaway

Rule of thumb: Check the other Laughlin promotions first before wasting time
on Harrahs Promotions. I have told Harrahs many times that their weak
promotions were no incentive for staying there. I stay there because they have the
best combination of rooms & food but I avoid the promotions. A few years ago
when they had 4 OAK promotions, I won 3 out of the 4 days (3 winners/day)
that I participated but it only totaled $250 + some stuff that I didn't want &
that's when I figured out that my play would have done much better elsewhere.
On subsequent trips to Harrahs I did play heavily elsewhere & did much better
promotion-wise. Even though I had earned a lot of drawing tickets, I gave
them away to local friends who didn't gamble much & would be happy with the few
small prizes (on average). Most of the time I wouldn't stop play to get the
drawing tickets & suggested that tickets be awarded based on say 50
pts/ticket or some such schedule so that we wouldn't have to wait & floor people
wouldn't have to run around. As usual, they listened politely & did nothing.
However, this is typical of most Harrahs properties in NV where most promotions
are over-hyped & overvalued so don't expect any changes as this has been going
on for a long time.

My brother and I were at Harrah's Laughlin on Monday, July 7th. Each of us
had earned more than 1000 tier points. This qualified us each for 21 swipes.
When we were finished with our swipes, we had won a grand total of $ 0.
Also, most of the other people in line before us had the same result.

I really like Harrah's, Laughlin. Best casino there. Not only best rooms and food but the nicest people work there. I consider the promotions I am lucky enough to be there for just fun and icing on the cake.

I have to agree with you, Ted. Back when we received one drawing
ticket for a 4OAK I spent most of my play time on the multi-plays
waiting for tickets and then filling them out. Add to that my disdain
for drum drawings (I'm 0 for over a hundred, although I do miss the
Stardust drawings in the showroom with the very short feathered
showgirl) and I just stopped collecting tickets for the mediocre prizes.

H-L did do an electronic drawing one time and would draw one winner
every hour and post it on a board. I actually won that one time, but I
don't remember what it was. I believe it was for cash: $100 or
$150.
