Guaranteed Video Poker = Huge Bust?

Thus far, these machines seem to be VERY poorly played, despite heavy
promotion and lots of pretty balloons. I think it's less about
gamblers being smart enough to figure out the scam, and more about the
whole concept being too complicated for the average Sun City resident
to comprehend. Hopefully Stations will come to their senses soon and
pull these machines and replace the Optimum Play inventory. (Though a
more likely scenario would be that in a month or two they'll pull these
machines and replace them with machines with the exact same terrible
paytables but without the Guaranteed Play protection - an even worse
deal for players - and the machines will be played far more often!)

How about BARELY played. I didn't see anyone else playing one
yesterday, even though like I said, the screen offers the
conventional Game King platform that was already on the machine.

One thing I forgot to mention. I had to get change for $100, so I
turned on the Service Light. A pleasant slotling soon appeared to
make change, then she asked "have you played Guaranteed Play
before?" I answered "no". Big mistake. She immediately went into a
long monologue on how the machine works, etc. I didn't want to be
rude, so I listened to the 3 or 4 minute quasi-sales pitch. At the
end, I thanked her and pretended to be thrilled by saying "now I get
125 chances at the Royal instead of 16 for the same price". Even
though I was laughing inside, it can't hurt to be nice.
