Grand Sierra put in a bank of 4 machines prominently labeled on top something like "Full Pay Video Poker. Over 100% Payback" Small print - no points earned on these games. I checked the paytables and there was indeed FPDW (which I played most of Saturday), DDB, Pick Em, KBJW (4000 coin royal), and many exotic games I don't know the paytables to assess but likely are full pay as well (triple double bonus this that and the other). This must be very new as even this busy holiday weekend when the casino was packed, these 4 machines were always available. Go figure.
The machines are nickle, dime and quarter, single line, and are located near the entrance to the buffet where the locals spend every night lined up for an hour for their $7.77 dinner.
Speaking of meal promos, they also have a very good meal promo in their cafe. Earn 777 points in play that day, swipe your card at a kiosk outside the Cafe Sierra, and get a voucher for a free meal. No points deducted. There is a specific menu you order from, so I was guessing pancakes for breakfast, burger for lunch, and spaghetti dinner. Not so! I had a large platter with a very tasty tri-tip steak dinner with baked potato and veggies. $15.95 on the regular menu. Person near me had a nice looking salmon dinner off the free menu. I was impressed. They didn't try to cheap out on menu items, or for that menu just give a buffet voucher instead. This offer might only be lasting through end of July.
Oh, getting back to the full pay machines, question for the group. As no points accrue, do you put your card in the reader, or stay incognito? I was staying there on a free offer, and didn't want to look like I stiffed them for play, so opted to play those machines with my card inserted, but have reservations as to that being a good idea or not. Getting paranoid that it labels me as an AP. Thoughts?
