Went and checked around at GSR this weekend.
Best game is still just 9/6 JoB with progressive royal.
Looked in High Limit (for Mark) and barely was able to find 9/6 JoB at the $1 level (didn't see any at the $5 or $10 level).
No better than 15/9/4 Deuces, at any level.
There are also quite a few 8/5 BP with Progressive Royals at the 25c level.
GSR Report
Did you happen to check Wheel Poker or any DDB progs?

I didn't notice any DDB progressive, but I'm sure there are some.
The only ONE I did notice, was a "locals bank" (as it was FULL ALL THE TIME) of 9/6 DDB 5c with 4-way progressive.
They have 8/5 BP on wheel poker in 10c-50c variation (they have 7/5 BP in pennies and nickles) They have 4 Wheel Pokers.

Thanks. If you do get back there before the end of the year could you check the Wheel Poker paytables. I'm pretty sure they aren't FP but they are a weakness of mine and I'll play them if they aren't too terrible.

The wheel poker has 8/5 BP at 10c and above, 7/5 at 1c and 5c
The deuces are all 15/9/4 at every level (same payscale basically at all the machines in GSR for deuces)

Wheel poker or any good vp in pennies is bad ! Why ?
Five dollar frankies...they stick $5 in the machine , hog the machine all day, and do nothing but order free drinks for their 5C a hand investment.

That's what I hate about the 5c 9/6 JoB Spin Poker at Atlantis. Here is a game that I can't find on the east coast and yet it is always full of people playing pennies, sometimes even playing one coin per line.
I usually end up playing the 100 plays instead.

I simply LOVED the GSR! PLENTY of 9/6 JB in .05-.10-.20-.25 and higher SINGLE LINE and SLANTTOPS scattered about.
(Even a long bank of machines hidden behind a wall next to the lounge by CHECK-IN area!
Harrah's downtown is showing its age, and 10-coin SGL-LINE .25 games are a little more volatile (relative to dimes 3/5 plays).
I did enjoy the DB progressives at Cal-Neva, though (a bank of uprights 10/7 DB on lower floor for .50c or 10 nickels) on quads and higher, except for the SF. Royals in suited prog in Sky Casino 9/7 DB. (6 linked machines).
In general, 3-5plays and higher, only fullpay games for .10c and higher. (9/6 JB, 8/5 BP). Even some 4700-18-7-5 Jkr Pkr for a change of pace.
I did real well on the WHEEL pokers (only 4 machines, by a section towards Sportsbook, but about 1/3 way into the casino).
They are also near a Slots tourney area (not the current WOF daily tournament machines), and 2 TITO cash in machines nearby.
Most of the other slanttop vp (3/5/10 plays) and sgl liners in smoking area are here). Otherwise, the scattered sgl-line multi games are on the OTHER sides of the tables games in banks of 8-12,
incl. that Prog. ugly 2s 15-9 game, 9/6 JB (was over $1500 when I tried). With a generous comp rate (.5%?), and it was 2x pts on Tues/Thurs. I did pretty good with my mimimal play (2-3k daily).
In fact, upon checkout, I still had over $18 in comps leftover, and they applied it to my bargain room rate pkg ($39 for 1 night + 2 free!).
Only 'complaints' about this place:
No shaded parking (but in winter time, not as relevant, as long as wind isn't blowing too much).
$10 resort fee.
Otherwise, great Lounge/free band entertainment, and great vp offerings. (unless you are a diehard DB/DW player).
I found the 18-7-5 Jkr pkr not too bad, esp. in 3/5 play mode.
Martin.

Re the bank of slant tops between the check in and the lounge: that's
a small non-smoking area and enjoyable to play there at night when a good band is playing in the lounge.
Re mailers. I can vouch for the good promotions. I don't play there that much, maybe once a quarter for a few hours, but I get mailers for two free nights plus $75 free play. I'm only a quarter vp player so it's nice that us lower level players can get those types of freebies.

Mailers.
I did receive a pcard/mailer with months and rates for Nov-Dec listed on it. I expect MORE mailers in the future (now that I gave them some decent play).
I also checked ONLINE, at their website, and at the time (pre-thx giving), they had similar offers.
(i.e. buy 1, get 1-2 nights free, + extras for bowling/funquest credits).
$3 movie specials are ongoing (usually older movies, but still worth a peek).

Just was there today; they actually took the 1c denom off of the Wheel Poker's...I didn't check the payback scales, but when I walked by I noticed no 1c anymore...

I did receive a pcard/mailer with months and rates for Nov-Dec listed on it. I expect MORE mailers in the future (now that I gave them some decent play).
I also checked ONLINE, at their website, and at the time (pre-thx giving), they had similar offers.
(i.e. buy 1, get 1-2 nights free, + extras for bowling/funquest credits).$3 movie specials are ongoing (usually older movies, but still worth a peek).

You can't fault them for that. I'd still like a report on the DDB pay tables...anyone?

MOSTLY 9/6 on SINGLE line games, nickels and higher.
I didn't BOTHER checking any penny-.02c denom. games.
I think there was one slanttop bank near registration/bar-lounge end of the casino that even had PROGRESSIVES on some of the 4Ks and higher (the bonus quads, kicker quads?) and the Royal? for nickels.
As for MULTI-PLAY games, I think they were 9/6 at dimes and higher...

That sounds great. Thanks. If they had 9/6 DDB on the Wheel Pokers that would be icing on the cake.
