Please substitute LVH for GVR and respond. That will be my situation in 2
weeks.
Thanks,
Chris

I am headed to GVR for a first visit in October. I talked to a host
and booked the room at Casino rate, with the host to review our play
at the end of the trip to see if the room can be comped.
I am wondering, should I bill all our meals to the room and let all
the points accumulate on the card? Or is it better to cash in
points for meals as I go?
I guess I don't really understand the difference between a "earned"
and "discretionary" comps. When we have stayed other places, I have
always left all the points on the card, charged everything to the
room, and let the host review the bill and comp everything when we
leave. I never checked to see if the points were taken off the card
or not.
Now I am thinking I may have been missing out. Can you use up all
the points for cashback or food and still expect the host to comp
the room based on the overall volume of play?
Thanks for any advice on this topic,
