Greektown's Bistro 555 Restaurant & Pick'Em

Dolores and I had comped dinner at Bistro 555 last week. Nice place, very open and airy. I didn't like the fancy salmon plate that I ordered. The succotash and vegetables that came with it had very little flavor(canned?)and the salmon tasted really fishy. Dolores liked her chicken dish though. Next time Ill try the fish and chips.

They have a neat little bar in the corner that is a great place to kick back for some peace quiet for a while. No embedded video poker in it. The bars in the casino are just too noisy.

I've been to their new, fancy bar upstairs three times now and each time it was closed late in the afternoon. And another time all the couches and lounge chairs were reserved for a group.

I dropped over $500 playing quarter Pick'Em Friday (I hate when that happens). Worst session I've had in quite awhile. Hit only one FH in five hour's play and obviously, no quads (only had about seven three-of-a-kinds dealt to me all day). Dolores won though. She hit two quads and a lot of full houses and other stuff.

Now that golf season is coming up, I won't be playing vp as much until the fall. I play in two golf leagues ( Bald MTN. and Devil's Ridge) and it gets expensive what with the food and drinks afterwards.

Just did some work with Jean Scott and Deke Castleman at Huntington Press again on their new book on being frugal in Vegas. Sent her a lot of quotes from my collection(some VP Pappy quotes too) related to the subject. No money involved, but I'll get credit in the book which will be good publicity if my latest book goes.

Still no word on my latest Texas Hold'em book proposal that I sent out earlier this month. It's only been about three weeks, so it might be a little early yet. I'll probably get rejected again, but hey, nothing ventured, nothing gained..right?

Talk to you guys again.
