Greektown update

Went to Greektown today.?

The 5 play jacks in the new machines are 9/6 at the dollar level and 9/5 at the $0.25 and $0.50 level.? The new 100 play pennies have 9/5 DDB and 9/5 JOB on them.? NSUD, PE and the $1 progressive remained intact.

I guess the $25/hr house edge on the old 5 play jacks or better wasn't enough.? Even with the cashback, it was still a $15/hour money maker with perfect play.? And I have watched enough people to know that those machines don't see too much perfect play.?
I'm sensing a change in Greektown philosophy on video poker.? I would much rather have an older machine with a better paytable than the new hi def machines with a worse pay table.? Also, I played the 100 play 9/5 DDB for a while ( I know) and I found the buttons surprisingly unresponsive for a new machine.? I did machine to hold a bare 2 when the second deuce didn't accept my button press and I had to hit some buttons multiple times for them to accept the input.?

I don't foresee a lot of video poker locally for me in 2008.? With the number of playable machines diminishing and the casinos fighting harder for each dollar ( to cover the cost of the new casinos) it isn't worth the time and expense.

Johnny;
I tried to go to Greektown and check out the new machines but could not find a parking spot due to the Lions Game.
  Thanks for the info.

I love you guys...

Our new parking structure and walkway open on November 15th. Hopefully,
you won't have to give up on us just becasue of downtown events
anymore. We are giving away a car and a bunch of other stuff if any of
you arent doing anything, you should come down and give it a shot.

I have read all the feedback on the new machines we just installed. The
intent was to match the paytables of the games we replaced- I assumed
this was the case and did not check them personally before we turned
them on. I will investigate and we will make any adjustments needed to
make sure we have the same paytables that we used to. We are looking
into the button problem as well.

I have also passed along the feedback on our, uh, cashback offers and
discounts that don't work with comps- I think you all know where I
stand on this...

Coming soon- Video Poker Tournaments!

We kind of missed you and with the trouble with two of you coworkers I thought you pulled your head into your shell.
Are the upstairs that has been closed off going to be opened on the 15th also?
The ladies like the new machines but they are losing a little more then they like but that is the price to pay for entertainment. My own comes after the first of the month as I'm retired. Hope to be able to see the new machines this coming week.
I also apologize for the ranting I did about the rest rooms but have seen the slobs since then.
  Good to have you back.

Hey Nick,

Don't worry about the bathroom rants, we're better since the
remodels, but still far from perfect so keep sharing as you see fit.

Here's a little update on what's going on:

The areas we have closed off are now our new entrance from our
attached 3000 space garage. These areas will reopen on the 15th, and
I think you will be impressed with what we have done, and will
appreciate the restored mobility around that floor.

The Alley Grill has reopened with new stair access from the casino.
We expect the access from the alley downstairs to re-open this
weekend. A new elevator that services the gaming floor as well as the
Alley Gille will be available in the next few weeks. I am excited
about this project because not only do we restore the alley back to
normal (which will make Coldstone happy I'm sure), but we add another
elevator to our casino floor.

We are replacing the escalator near the people mover as well. I'm not
sure on the timeline for completion, but hopefully very soon.

Coming in December is new and improved reatil shop near the entrance.
Just in time for the holidays- tattoo anyone?

Outside, the casino expansion gets a little more steel and the hotel
grows a little taller with each passing day- all on schedule. The
Lafayette ramp is re-opened and now leads directly into our new
garage.
