Greektown Casino laid off ( fired?) 3 vice presidents last week. Included were the vp of slots and the vp of player development. The official reason was to increase efficiencies, etc. Do you think maybe the bad publicity over the Greektown barrings had anything to do with it?

John, normally I'm skeptical when people suggest a relationship
between a management restructure and some isolated incident. But this
is one case where I think you're totally on target. The timing as
well as the areas of responsibility and senior staff involved are just
a little too closely related.
While casinos in general have been known to take some pretty
outrageous actions, this one topped the cake and I can't imagine any
responsible ownership taking pride in the press it received. All the
same, I'm impressed that a response should take the form of such a
drastic measure.
I think the real telling as to the movitivation here will be what
happens next. If it is related, we should see Greektown take
particular pains to reassure existing players and woo back ones who've
defected.
I'm sorry to say, John, I don't expect you'll be among the woo-ees.
There's always a certain amount of face-saving involved in a situation
like this and I don't expect Greektown to actually come out and say
"we screwed up".

One interesting side note: There was final mention in the article to
one other "shake-up" that I can't help to find amusing in nature:
"Chief Financial Officer Bruce Dall now oversees maintenance and valet
parking."
Now, if that isn't an example of being "cast out into the doghouse", I
don't know what is :).
