Greektown progressive BDW in non-smoking section

For all those non-smokers out there, I'm happy to report that the bonus deuces progressive in the old poker room is now a non-smoking area!! In fact, if you park in the self-park, you can actually get to and from the BDW progressive, without entering a smoking area. The only disappointment is that the bathrooms on that side of the casino have been removed from use, so I still had to go into the smoking area just to use the bathroom, resulting in smelly clothes and hair.

BDW is positive play at $1400 progressive (99.597%) if the cashback is at .5%, as reported on vpfree, however, I'm not sure if that is the case. I can confirm that it did give me a point for each $6.25 (5 hands) played. And, we were able to download promo dollars on the machines.

As far as the games by the Eclipz bar, we tried to play those, but the smoke really did get bad. The air flow seems to carry the smoke down the bank of machines towards the Eclipz bar, and the players at the next bank upwind were smoking pretty heavy.

Cash back at Greektown is 0.167%. Comps are about 0.5%.

As far as points, Greektown decided to make this fairly simple concept much more complicated than it needs to be. On the machine, you will see a count down of 20. This is 20 quarters or $5. You will register one 1 on the card reader display. It takes 4 of those to make one actual Greektown point. 150 of the actual Greektown points ( $3000 CI ) gets you $5 in cash back or 0.167%. It takes 600 card reader points ( also $3000 CI) to get you the same $5 in cashback and the same 0.167% cashback. Why they do it this way, I don't know. It might be related to how they award drawing tickets but to me, it just confuses people.

Thanks for sharing this info, it is confusing. Do you know if the near full pay machines near the Eclipz bar earn the same level of CB as the other video poker machines? Someone earlier mentioned that the # of points was reduced by 25% when they moved to a machine that allowed use of promo dollars. Sounds like it was just a case of the display points counting X4 of actual greektown points.

T+J,

Every vp machine I have ever played at Gtown accumulates cashback at the same rate. It is all 0.167%
