Greektown play log, buffet, comps at gift shop

My Greektown bounce back ended so I am going to give them some play to get back on the bounceback wagon. I will list my play here to hopefully figure out what amount of play generates what bounceback. I will also note any 'unusual' results.

Today's play was $2490 coin in, 1992 hands on $0.25 NSUD and I lost $102.50. I had 6 SF, 8 quints, 5 WRF, no deuces and no royal. I did have RF4 dealt twice and 3 deuces dealt 3 times as well as 2 natural quads. I'm going to put all this in table form and load it into the files section.

It's a little difficult to get your exact coin in since the points on the card reader are $5/point and the cashback is $6 coin in for $0.01. I don't think the points carry over. Once again, Greektown makes life a little more difficult for anyone having the audacity to figure out how their system works. Silly me, I like to know what my money gets me before I spend it.

We ate at the buffet today and due to a weight loss wager at work, I am trying to eat healthily. Now, the buffet has no lo cal salad dressing, no sugar free desserts and no fresh fruit for dessert. Both Motor City and MGM have a ton of healthier alternatives.

We looked at the gift shop today. There was a green purse that Peg said is $10 in the stores. It was $45 cash or $95 in comp dollars. Every item was at least twice as much with comp dollars. Some were 3 or 4 times as much. This is why I questioned Greektown when they used the comp percentage as part of the total return. Of course, The MGCB sided with Greektown. If Greektown can basically make up whatever value they want for comps, how come they get to use the full cash value for advertising? That doesn't seem right, does it? This is more a shot at MGCB than Greektown. I'm not sure Greektown even understands the point I was making but MGCB should know better.

Can you explain what you mean when you say they calculate comp percentage as part of total return?

Also, how many food dollars did you get?

Shloemoe,

I was referring to a billboard Greektown put up several years ago. They made a big point of advertising that their $1 9/6 JOB was over 100% payback. I challenged them and they said that since the comp rate is .498% ( at the time), that plus the .166% cashback and the total return was over 100%. I challenged them on the use of comps in the total return calculation. We fought back and forth for a while but the billboard did come down and the person who was fighting me no longer worked at Greektown. MGCB backed up Greektown's use of the comp value in the total return calculation.

That's interesting -- and kind of shady -- that they would claim that. I know in New Jersey at least comp budget is kept very separate from pay-in, pay-out figures. I will say this about Greektown, however: their food comps are "hard" instead of soft like Motor City's or MGM's (i.e. I can use them at outside restaurants like Astoria Pastry, etc.). This is why I prefer to do the bulk of my VP play at GT.
