I think the competition between the 4 casinos down in the Detroit area is a very good play for us players right now.
I did stay at Motor City recently on a matched FREE Windsor room offer on 9/30/09 for 1 night, this was from my September 2009 monthly mailing from Windsor. I went to the player's club at motor city the first week of September and they made a copy of my Windsor mailing (just the 2 FREE nights per week page), and returned the entire mailing back to me. At that time, they told me they would only honor 1 FREE night a week and not 2 free nights a week, and that I could book a free room offer, 24 hours from now, after they had time to enter my free rooms into my account, so room reservations could see them.
Today, I called and tried to book another FREE Windsor room for next week, (still from the same September mailing, which had free rooms for October on it) and was told that my free room(s) Windsor offer was already being shown as redeemed in the computer system. I then told the clerk in room reservations that I was told by the player's club personnel that the room offers were only good for 1 free night per week and they were not honoring 2 free nights a week. I was put on hold and when he came back, he then told me that one of my offers in the system said "pending", so no one really knew what that meant, (that's why I was put on hold I guess), but they did let me book it then as a free Windsor room night matched offer then. Of course I then brought up the topic that Greektown was still matching the FREE room offers also from Windsor, and I could always stay there for FREE instead....
Motor City did NOT take the new October Windsor mailing that I brought in the 1st of October to match the free rooms with, I was then told that they stopped matching the Windsor free room offers in September....
I guess it never hurts to ask every time you go, the rules seem to be changing weekly, or even daily sometimes now.
Competition is good, lets just hope it continues through the holidays and beyond !

I tried to get my bi-weekly freebet from MGM matched but the printout I was carrying did not specify the amount of the freebet, so I could not get it matched. (MGM did not send me a paper mailer this month.) Greektown also is still matching Windsor offers -- I got that matched.
I would be interested to hear if anybody else has success with this promotion.
