My wife played 9 hours of single line quarters at Greektown on Sunday. She plays pretty quickly, about 800 hph on those machines. We'll allow an hour for breaks so she ran about $8000 through the machines. Guess what she earned in comps for the day? Zero. By the way, she made about $125.
Greektown went to a new comp policy after they booted out the players in November. The new policy seems to be that if you earn money for the day, no comps. The hosts will talk about theoretical holds, etc but the fact is that if you make any money, no comps. This must be one of the generous benefits they could keep by kicking out 9 players.
If anyone still plays there, please let me know what your experience is for earning comps. By the way, my wife said it was pretty empty there today.
