I'd be highly interested to see how Greektown would prove that
nearly 1/2% comp rate. That's awfully high for a Detroit venue.
That question is in my update to MGCB and to Greektown. I ask them where
the number comes from. I also put in the argument that comps are not worth
anywhere near the casino quoted amount. They also belong to the casino and
can be revoked or changed at any time.
The MGM double points thing was an August and September
promotion. Unless they started running another one that I am not
aware of, the double points is over. It wasn't a true double points
deal anyway. You got your "regular" points, plus an equal amount
in "FreePlay" to be used in October. FreePlay means you play it
through at least once, you can't simply take the $$$ and run.
My sources tell me that it has started again. Might be Freeplay, I don't
know. I was told that if you use 2 cards at the same time, only one of the
cards will earn double points.
