First of all, I was there today and saw something that doesn't bode well.
The entire row of machines with $1 PE in the room next to the poker room was
disabled. Deb and I got there at 6AM, left at about 1PM, and they stayed that
way the entire time.
Second, I'm fairly certain that Steve Senk is out of town on business, so
that's probably got a lot to do with his not answering some emails.
Now, to play a little bit of Devil's Advocate.....
1. I spent nearly three decades working in bowling centers, in every
capacity at one time or another. I can tell you without hesitation that, on a
day-to-day basis, the women's rooms were almost always the most disgusting. The
men's rooms were usually the scene of the worst individual problems, things that
were more like vandalism (don't ask what!). GT really does need to pay closer
attention to restroom cleaning, though.
2. I agree with Terry that Steve is quite an asset. It boggles my mind that
someone in his position actually seems to care about what a small group such
as ours thinks.
3. I don't agree with Terry about putting up signs regarding washing hands
when leaving the restroom. It's not going to matter, some dirtbags just aren't
going to wash up afterwards and signs won't change that. Can't legislate
some behaviors.
The employees at GT aren't as bad as other places in Detroit. Motor City has
some of the surliest pricks I've ever seen in a casino. And MGM has some
folks who have absolutely no problem with lying right to your face without
blinking an eye.
Personally, I am just tickled to death that we've got the VP choices that we
have at GT. If Steve puts in just some of the changes he mentioned last week,
it'll be even better. Especially if he puts in some of those bartop
slant-tops with quarter and $ PickEms!
Steve, look at these postings in this light - if all the complaining here is
about the bathrooms, then your department must be doing something right.
