After all their ballyhoo about how they needed to bar those few
players in order to keep the "high-paying" games, GREEDtown has
downgraded the only decent VP anyway. The 9/6 JoB's at the circular
bar are now all 8/5's. Both quarters and dollars. After hearing
rumors, I stopped in there yesterday afternoon and checked out every
last one of them. I went straight to the slot booth and cleaned out
what little I had left in cashback. Deb and I - and a rotating cast
of friends and companions - have spent a helluva lot of pleasant
hours in there, but there is no reason to ever go back. There is
nothing playable in the place - the best game now is a small bar
upstairs by the craps pit with dollar 8/5 JoB progressive that was at
$5232 yesterday. Everything else sucks. 6/5 bonus, 9/6
DB, "Colorado" deuces, etc. Yuck.
On another note, if any of you have comp balances there, AND you are
a Red Wings fan (or know one), then check this out. They
are "selling" some rather interesting Red Wings windshield ice
scrapers. These are NOT just some cheesy little plastic throwaway
item, either. They will give you one (or more) for just a $10
reduction in your comp balance. I don't know how many you can get -
they gave me 2 with no discussion at all. If you have a comp balance
there and don't want to play there any more, go work on your
Christmas shopping for free.
