Greektown 100% JOB

I filed with MGCB today about Greektown and their untruthful billboard. I filed by fax so they should be looking at it already. I will update the group when I hear something.

   Johnny Z,

I just spent a good 3 to 4 hours searching for the mysterious 100%
Jacks or Better game that Greektown Casino says they have. I searched
downstairs and upstairs to no avail. But I did find dozens of Game
Maker 99.95% Pick'Em Poker machines all over the place, which is good
news. I thought they had all been taken out for the low paying kind,
but I guess they brought them back. I did managed to hit a quad for
$600 in the Parthenon room on a dollar machine, and a $150 quad on a
quarter one. I then buzzed over to Motor City where I won another
$200 playing NSUD. (Deuces Wild) It was a good day.
I doubt if anything will come of your filling with the MGCB. I
don't really think they have the public's interest in mind when they
supposedly oversee the casinos. If they did they wouldn't allow the
price fixing scam on cash backs for video poker that all the Detroit
casinos pay along with Soaring Eagle. They all pay exactly .167%.
What a coincidence.

they are also paying for the bed, in the form of tax breaks."

John and Terry - I also spent some time in Greektown yesterday, altho
a helluva lot less than 3 or 4 hours. They had sent me a couple
of "bounceback" coupons for $25 each, I was cashing one in.

The bartops in the round bar downstairs have all changed, and all
appear to be identical MG/MD's now. 25/50/$ with a variety of really
ugly games in them. Only playable game I noticed was the JoB is 9/6
for $ (but 8/5 in 25/50). I didn't check the PickEm in those because
I have a highly strong distaste for that game, couldn't even tell you
if they had it in those machines. Lots of lovely stuff on the order
of 9/6 DB - yuck!

A cute sidebar that says a lot about Greektown's operation in
general - As I walked in, a rather large fellow hit this one "Big
Bertha" slot for a $1,500 payoff. He was obviously a very happy
camper. Well, I stood in a 15-minute line at the cage to get my $25,
then went to those bartops with my 25 $-slot-tokens and discovered
that these new bartops will only work for TITO or cash - no coins at
all. So I cashed 'em in one of those self-serve things, pocketed the
cash, and started walking out. I had been there maybe 20 or 25
minutes. As I passed "Big Bertha" again - that poor fellow was STILL
standing there waiting for any slot attendant to show up. He looked
a lot less happy than he was earlier.
