Great Race to Total Rewards ...... no way to track progress

I played at Joliet on July 15. Before I played, I went to the Total Rewards desk and signed up for the Great Race. I played over 25 points that day. After a few days I went to the website to see if I could check to make sure I got credit for playing. I looked all over and could not find anywhere to check my progress. Then I went to the Total Reward desk to see if they could check. (this was a over a week later). They said they had no way to check to see if I got credit for playing this promo. They basically said TRUST US!

I sent and email and here is their response: As of yesterday, we were officially informed from our Corporate Total Rewards that unfortunately there is not a way for our guests to track their checkpoints for this promotion. The only suggestion we can give is to check at the end of your visit to any of the qualifying properties with the Total Rewards Department and they can look at what you have earned for the day and if it qualifies for the promotion. You can always ask a Total Rewards Representative how many Tier credits you have earned since the promotion started. (what does that prove...I could get hundreds of tier credits at one casino)

We wish there was an easier way to track this but as of right now, that is all we can do.

Again they are saying TRUST US.

This sure makes me want to travel to different casinos in different states to particpate in a promo that you have no way of telling if you will get what is promised.

Deb, I'm right in there with you. Were I to trust TR with anything, it would be that they'll find a way to screw up a promotion.

Still, last year's "Great Race" seemed to go off with few (if any) bumps -- everyone I spoke with was satisfied with what they came away with ... I'm finding it easier to take this year's promo on faith.

While you are correct that there is no way to track your progress on the web site, use the "Contact Us" link on Caesars web site to send an email to the TR folks at the property you played at. They can confirm that you swiped and earned the required 25 points.
Here is the text of the email I received when I asked the same questions:
Thank you for writing Harrah's Cherokee Casino & Hotel, and we trust you enjoyed your visit with us! I can confirm the swipe to "opt in" for the Great Race to Rewards promotion for Cherokee on Sunday, July 15th in addition to at least 25 Base Reward credits earned. You have your "checkpoint" from Cherokee!

I don’t think it matters if you register before playing or after but it is required that you register on that day – some casinos have promotional kiosks so you don’t have to go to the booth.

Here is the response I got from my email inquiry:

As of yesterday, we were officially informed from our Corporate Total Rewards that unfortunately there is not a way for our guests to track their checkpoints for this promotion.

My point is yes they can verify I played my 25 points, BUT I am trusting them that it counts toward this promotion. Can't see why it should be so difficult, you can go online and verify your Great Gift Wrap-up points all year long. They should have set up a web site to follow your progress on the Great Race.
