Great Gift Wrapup at Caesars/ MGM-Mirage Holiday Gift Shoppe

I attended the first day of the shopping event today at Caesars. The
massive line stretched from the top of the Palace Tower escalator and
ended probably just this side of Henderson. It was that crowded.
Seven Stars had a separate line and immediate access but Diamond
status got you no preferential treatment.

Once inside things moved more quickly. You were given a calculator
and then allowed to browse items according to point values. Since I
had already pre-shopped online (I strongly urge you to do this) I was
able to quickly go to checkout with my item numbers from the online
catalogue. Harrahs had abundant staffing at checkout.

On Sunday I went to the MGM-Mirage Holiday Gift Shoppe. Or, more
appropriately, the Holiday Gift Kiosk, which is what you saw at most
properties. It was almost sad at the TI as people approched the two
young attendants and asked where all the merchandise was. The
response was "Take the free shuttle to the Bellagio. We just take
your order here." Since all I wanted was gift cards (several are
offerred as a point option) I concluded my redemption on the spot.
But others seemed perplexed at coming to Vegas for a shopping event
and directed to either shuttle or browse the computers.

Our experience was completely different. We were there the first day about 90 minutes after
it opened. We went right in, picked our stuff, checked out and were completely done in
about 30 minutes.

We were at the GGWU on Monday around 4 pm and there were
no lines--we walked right in! One of our items we wanted was
out of stock and when we questioned them as to why they left
the item and the cards out we were told to direct our complaint
to a supervisor! We too had "shopped" on line and were familiar
with what we wanted so it went fast. Hubby and I combined our
points and had no problems with this. FYI. . . . . .

That's probably why it was so crowded when it first opened at 10AM.
People were afraid they might run out of the merchandise they wanted.

For those who have not gone shopping at Caesars yet be sure to look at
the online catalogue very carefully. There are a few terrific bargains
in there if you know your prices. Your GGWU shopping points can be far
more valuable than what your Reward Credits could purchase IF you do
your homework. Can't be more specific since I don't want Harrahs to
pull another "out of stock" again when they realize how they've goofed.

Has anyone recieved this offer? One coat or jacket upon check-in and another with 4,000 points earned with three nights(free). Do they take the 4,000 points for the second offer? Thanks:)
