I was encouraged by people attending the FIRST (not the one at
Caesars now) Harrahs Great Gift Wrapup to hear merchandise began
arriving in less than two weeks.
But the Venetian is a different story. Attended the opening day mob
scene at Grazie Gifts on 11/1 right at 10AM. Five weeks later, no
gifts.
I called the (866) 4Grazie number this week to see if anything had
been shipped. The news wasn't exactly good - one of the items MIGHT
go out in a few days and nothing else was scheduled.
None of us knows if any of these events will even be held next year.
But, once again, I consider the Grazie to be the poorest of the three
in terms of point value for gifts as well as shipment.
I did want to point out one "trick" with respect to points earned
which I have noticed in the past. With respect to MGM-Mirage casinos
any points earned in December AFTER the shopping event ends (which is
this Sunday 12/7) were added to the next year's total. In other
words, it wasn't just play from Jan. 1 of the event year. So, if this
has not changed, any play you give to MGM-Mirage properties later
this month will go on your 2009 Holiday Gift Shoppe balance assuming
the event is held.
