Grand Opening Experiences??

I will be in Vegas on my first of 4 trips this year and I have seen
that the new RED ROCK STATION CASINO is opening on April 18.

Does anyone have any experiences with going to a grand opening? Is
there a mob of people waiting for hours before hand? I don't really
want to drive out to Charleston and the 215 only to find a zoo waiting
for me!

Thanks,

S

Yes there will be a zoo. There will likely be a couple million dollars
worth of fireworks set off first, so it can be rather spectacular, but
there will be major amounts of people there.

IMO, the reason to go to a grand opening is to check out if casino
management has made mistakes and has accidentally put in $1 FPDW, or
whatever. This can happen when everybody involved in the major
decision-making capacities has been promoted one or two levels from
other casinos. I do NOT expect that here. Station has a very formulaic
approach, and they shift slot directors from place to place so they are
all run the same. The only thing new and interesting at Red Rock will be
the restaurants, bars, and other amenities. I expect the gaming to be
very Station.
