I posted this on the VPfree Laughlin site, but I thought others might
be interested in this. The Ramada Express in Laughlin has been
running an unusual promotion. They have identified the top 250 paying
slot machines during the last 4 months, and have put on a sign " You
have found a hot slot". The catch is you need special decoder glasses
to read the message. To get the special glasses, you have to earn 50
points on your card. I have never seen anything like this. Is this a
new gimmick?

The Harrah's in Reno publishes the top slots by payout
each month. It is available on handouts in various
spots in the casino. The glaases are a goofy touch.

I call it a gimmick - new or old - because what a machine has done in the past 4 months has nothing to do with its overall payback - this is useless information.
