That's my trip down Memory Lane, this morning.
Those were some very nice stories, Babe.........
I'll share my favorite memory of pre-Becky days at Binion's. We were there
with a small group of maybe 6 people total. Four of us were at one $5 BJ
table. The poor dealer started busting, and busting.... and busting. After one
particularly unexpected bust, one friend of mine - all 6'8'' and 350 pounds of
him - jumped out of his seat and hollered "BOO-YAH!" at our good fortune. The
next time, all of us hollered BOO-YAH in unison. We weren't drunk (yet) or
obnoxious, although I suppose you could say we were just a wee bit loud. The
pit bosses and dealers seemed to be enjoying the show, since a table full of
happy people having fun isn't exactly bad for their business. Suddenly, after
another BOO-YAH, we heard a bunch of voices behind us echoing it. Turned
around, and what had to be the entire next shift of dealers were sitting and
standing on the staircase behind us. Every BOO-YAH got an echo from them, and before
long at least half of everybody in that end of the building was echoing our
happy shouts. When we finally decided to quit, partly hoarse (of course!), the
pit wrote us comps for dinner, just for being such fun people.
We will never forget the "BOO-YAH Table" at Binion's.
