Good Service & Good News

In mid-August, I took a trip which involved stays at Caesars LV & LV Hilton.

Was still able to play JB at Harrahs but was taking a bath at 87% return so
quit when I was down $4K. Caesars offer was $1K cash.

Next up was LV Hilton which I hadn't visited in over a yr & resumed losing
there on NSUD (don't play JB as theo is almost non-existent) to tune of $2K.
Offer was $250 + $300 when play reaches $250 in reward $. Hilton used to be my
favorite place to stay as I like staying in N Tower & was coded for rooms at
far end of tower which put me close to parking lot. As luck would have it,
there was construction during my stay which shut down the N Tower elevator at
the end which forced a walk back to elevators near the gift shop.

I was pretty bummed out when I went to slot club to find out how many Reward
$ I'd earned. Due to shock, don't remember how small the number was but
immediately gave up any hope of going for the 2nd half of the offer so decided to
just gamble enough to reach Elite level & quit which I did. Have recently
learned that nothing has really changed as far as theoretical requirements for
the old C1 - C4 levels which are still being used even though the system now
is clothed in the guise of new slot cards with 3 tier levels of Classic,
Elite & Ultra. What has changed is that the theoreticals have been drastically
lowered on all the VP machines that I played. I'm guessing the change is it's
at MOST a tenth of what it used to be. So former play levels might be good
enough for C3 but check by asking first before running up a lot of charges.

To bottom it off, parked my car in N Tower parking garage late one night &
next morning go out to find that it's been stolen. It's an old 1994 Honda
Accord & the reason I drive it to LV is because it's old-not-worth-much & LV is
#1 or #2 for stolen cars but still didn't expect it to happen to me. Reported
it to LV Hilton Security & this is where the good service comes in. The head
of security shows up, is very thorough about taking down all the info: car
description, when, where, etc. & has his people do 2 searches of ALL lots just
in case I forgot where I parked. Nothing turns up. Call LV Metro Police &
give them a report & they're also thorough but the capper was they offered to
give me a ride to wherever I needed to go.

Contrast this to when I went back to VIP Lounge to extend my stay by a
couple of days to tie up loose ends & arrange for a rental car. The offer that I
was staying on was a 4-day offer of which I originally booked only 2. It was
no problem to extend & staff were glad to extend me to the limits of the offer
but I know that if this happened at the Wynn or one of the better Strip
properties, an exec would have added RFB or something to salve the pain. This
didn't happen at LVH & from prior experiences I didn't expect it to.

My prior experiences at LV Hilton have conditioned me not to expect much in
terms of service. What caught me by surprise is that the department that you
don't expect it from, hotel Security, really did a good job in providing
service at a stressful time. I also felt good about the service from LV Metro
Police. But these are agencies you'd rather not have service from.

Here's the good news, LV Metro called me this morning & told me that my car
was found at a Mirage parking lot. It will probably cost me more than it's
worth to get it out of storage but it's a one-owner car & if the coupons are
still in the trunk, it will more than pay for the expense. Gotta love those boys
& girls in blue!!
