The only time my husband has found some better Scotch in Vegas is if we had
some comps and he ordered it at a restaurant and paid with comps. Presumably
if you have some comps you could also go to a bar and pay with comps. Since
comps now accumulate at some places in Vegas such as Park Place/Caesars
properties (Caesars, Ballys, Paris, Flamingo Hilton) and Harrahs, you could have
accumulated comps, then just find a bar with the scotch you want and get a comp
from the reward club and pay that way. Many gourmet restaurants have good
scotchs on their dessert menu (or just ask). I believe he found something good at
the bar inside the Bellagio buffet when we had Limited RFB and was able to
charge it to the room.
