Remember this for next year's New Years. A very good place to watch the
fireworks is from the area outside the Rio's Pavilion section. You can follow the
signs toward their convention area and exit the Pavilion doors. Parties are
held further down the hallway in the Pavilion Ballrooms, and these areas are
closed off, but the doors to the parking lot are open.
We went to the Rio party which had viewing in this area. There was plenty of
room in the parking lot for walking around and not being too crowded with
other people. You had a clear view of Treasure Island and fireworks at Ballys,
Flamingo, and other areas and could also see up and down the entire strip to
see the panorama of fireworks.
While being close up to fireworks from a strip location is nice, it isn't too
nice to be packed like sardines while you are watching, so for us the Rio
site was nicer.
