The worst complainer sat beside me last week and played

I've seen nickel players tie up a 50 or 100 play machine by playing one line
at 1 coin. This is so ignorant when others are waiting to play such a
machine at max levels.

Yesterday topped it all when I saw a lady playing a Super Times Pay 3 play
on 2 lines at one coin per line. No way was she ever going to get the
multiplier. And the other part was her husband sitting at the Super Times Pay next to
her, just watching her and not playing at all. 2 good machines tied up by
dummies.

This wasn't in Canada, BTW.

I, too, have sometimes been frustated by not being able to get on a
machine. However, I don't neccessarily put the blame on the person
playing it, but rather on the casino for not having enough machines
to meet the demand.

People who play short coin and/or minimal lines on a multi-line
machine aren't doing it to spite others who want on the machines,
they are doing it because that's how they want to play. As
frustrating as that can be to watch, they aren't doing anything
really wrong, other than reducing their chances against the casino.
It wouldn't be any different if they were playing all lines full
coin, you would still be without a machine to play at.

As for the person sitting and not playing at all, if that was the
only machine available, I would politely ask if they would mind if I
played that machine. I have done this many times, and have yet to be
refused.

I don't understand why this would seem "ignorant" to you. Don't
Blackjack players "tie up" free spots at $5 tables for people who are
willing to bet $25+ a hand (or two)?

I don't know why you're complaining about the woman at the machine.
However, I feel that you have a very valid point about the husband
who was not playing. Next time, I suggest that you talk to a security
guard. Unfortunately, even with TITO and notices around the casino
that "seats at slot machines are for players only", several people
rudely "save" machines by putting their coats on the chair, etc. For
whatever reason, I put up with it. I have never called security about
these sorts of things, but I am getting more and more tempted to.
Isn't this the sort of thing that TITO was supposed to reduce? I have
no problem with people PLAYING on slot/VP machines (even if it's at
minumum coin), but I do have a problem with people who aren't playing
making me wait around and spend more NON GAMING time in a casino than
I'd like.

Replies appreciated.
