good deal at Wynn

Just wanted to report that Wynn definitely seems to be a good place to play.
They are currently having a GREAT deal for new signups. Play 50 points and
get 2 free buffets (must be used within 2 days); play 500 points and you get
that, plus another 2 free buffets and $10 free play. Your 2nd set of
buffets must be used in 7 days for out-of-towners, 30 days for locals.

When we went (2pm on a Monday) the 4 "good" machines were full, so we went
to a $1 9/6 JB and my friend was able to play the 50 points (and then 500)
fairly quickly and came out even. There are a number of $1 9/6 JB machines, so
that is one alternative if the "good ones" are being played.

Also for my play back in Sept., which was about 900 points, I received 2
buffets on signup. Then received 4 weeks of $75 per week for Nov., and got 2
more buffets during one of those trips because I'd played a bit more (and
perhaps because the signup deal had changed). Also got 2 night offer for late
Nov/early Dec. Now just got another letter for $75 per week free play for 4
weeks in Dec. This is very good for the amount I'd played. I also got "regular"
free play during play, which seems to be $10 per 500 points. All this with
a Local address.

Another friend played 500 points in Sept. and got 4 weeks in Nov. $50 each
week and 2 free nights, plus 2 buffets and $10 Free play (500 point bonus).
So far she hasn't gotten a Dec. letter for free play, but this could be in the
mail. (Another local address).

From talking to other people, it seemed as though those who played their 500
initial points on several days may not have gotten the Free play offers, but
those who played all in one day did.

I suggest playing in 1 day in order to maximize daily average amount if you
play there. Higher play will apparently garner higher free play amounts. I
don't know if only Locals got the Free Play letters or not.

Some people who signed up initially at Wynn also received Le Reve and other
offers.

Has anyone been invited to slot tournaments and so on?

I went to the Wynn today (approximately 2:30). The 4 "good" machines were full, and I then spent about 20 minutes looking for alternatives. As a quarter player, I couldn't find any. My choices were 8/5 Jacks or 7/5 Bonus. I did my free play, and left -- I wasn't going to play those games with my money.

>>> You do have 7 days to use the 2 free buffets you earn after

earning 50

points under the new signup deal. Also, they can not be used on

weekends or

holidays.

To further clarify, the promo buffets are valid Monday through Friday
only.

Does anyone know if there is a stated end to this buffet offer - or is it open-ended, subject to being stopped at anytime?

Was also there Monday and played the 9/6 JOB because the 4 good
machines were occupied. Had played the good machines on a prior dated
and enjoyed the buffet.

Whoever planned the good machines and locals promos certainly seems to
know what he or she is doing. As a new casino it is desirable to
generate a critical mass of casino floor traffic after the opening
curiosity has worn off to have players want to play there. It is also
important for the Wynn to imbed itself in the general consciousness
of alpha luxury resorts.

The Wynn's announcements of the 2 banks of good machines with $ FPD
(through Rob Singer) generated a fair amount of buzz. Then eliminating
the FPD while keeping the other fp games combed out the more
aggressive "fleas" while retaining the locals who were more interested
in the Wynn's luxury environment and good play rather than purely
advantage play (presumably a better class of flea). The eliminating
of 1 bank, probably increased floor traffic; as well as playing
Monday, I also got up several times to check for opening in the good
machines. I had previously enjoyed the buffet at the Wynn and based on
its cleanliness, the quality of service and food quality, I consider
it more akin to a fine restaurant than a typical Vegas buffet.
Promotional room offers to locals during slow periods do not cost the
casino much (unused rooms like unused airline cost little to fill). If
a local were to enjoy such an offer and be duly impressed, the
likelihood is good that he or she would (as would I ) recommend the
Wynn to an out of town friend who sought luxury accommodations.

I don't expect that the locals promotions or good machines will last
forever. Based on construction costs the Wynn floor space is too
expensive for it to profitably cater to mass local play. However the
opening promotions seem better targeted than opening promotions at
other newly opened luxury casinos to create good will and
ultimately "position" the resort and casino while minimizing the cost
involved.

It is obvious, at least to me, that this is another "planned" result of retaining the 4 "good"
machines at the Wynn. How many of us play at some of the other machines, as we wait for
an opening to occur at one of the "good" machines.
